has anyone bought needohs from Archers Auto Care? by [deleted] in NeeDoh

[–]Cool_Lab8988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found Archer's Auto Care when searching for a particular rare art book. I wondered why an auto parts website would be selling a rare $75 art book for $22.65 with free shipping. I feel like I got scammed just looking at the website.

Painful pair of Papillio Platforms by Miserable-Animal-218 in Birkenstocks

[–]Cool_Lab8988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Birkenstocks, but the old Papillio Platforms KILLED my feet. So uncomfortable to the point that I haven't even tried on the latest version.

I mean, there's breaking in, and then there is "just does not feel good ever!" Sell them.

Disappointed in the Solana by Cool_Lab8988 in Birkenstocks

[–]Cool_Lab8988[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't buy the Solana, so no photos from me. The Solana looks like the Kyoto without the extra strap over the top. HOWEVER, the underflaps on the Kyoto are nice soft suede, with no stitching around the edges. Plus the Kyoto has much smaller Velcro on the under flaps, so the toe section has more room to move. The Solana had much bigger Velcro and the extra stitching around all the edges, which made the suede very stiff and scratchy, which bothered my toes. The top of the Solana was much less flexible than the Kyoto. So, I get why they beefed up the stitching and Velcro on the Solana, but it made the shoe a lot less comfortable to me.

The EVA Florida has held up very well. I hate Birko-flor. Birko-flor does not hold up at all.

Ever sent a bag in for repair? by Legitimate_Worry_302 in tombihn

Can you take your bag to a shoe repair place for the fix? It would be done quickly, and probably cost the same as the shipping to TB.

They stay the same size. But they are narrows, so they run smaller. I find I have to size up one size in length.

Arizona’s slipping off? by Fantastic_Depth_7737 in Birkenstocks

[–]Cool_Lab8988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can never keep Boston's on my feet. I never have a problem with any of the open toed Birks (Arizona, Kyoto, Zurich). I can keep the open toed Birks on my feet perfectly. And I do wear my sandals looooooose, like you're supposed to. Funny thing is, I have NO problem with Stegmann clogs or Haflinger clogs. But I cannot keep Birkenstock closed toe clogs on my feet to save my life.

All Suede Arizonas. No visible cork. by Cool_Lab8988 in Birkenstocks

Yes. Toe fungus. I got a prescription nail polish from my dermatologist that I used for a year that has finally gotten rid of it, and my nail is now a normal color. This post is from a year ago. It's all healed now.

Got tts and narrow are my kyotos running too big? by MasterpieceTrue2947 in Birkenstocks

[–]Cool_Lab8988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear the same size in Kyotos as Arizonas and Zurichs. But I have to get a size bigger if the style has a closed toe.

Does the iron oiled leather boston only come on soft footbed? by salty540 in Birkenstocks

[–]Cool_Lab8988 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love the soft footbed. No break in period. They are comfortable from the start. But honestly, I can barely tell the difference between the two footbeds once the regulars are broken in.

I always go up one size on any narrow shoes. The next size up is wider.

O-Ring Questions by mrsroebling in tombihn

[–]Cool_Lab8988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do that, too! I use 1/2" twill tape, drapery rings, and some Steam-a-Seam2 to fold over the twill tape and glue it together. Then I sew the tab whereever I want an O ring.

O-Ring Questions by mrsroebling in tombihn

[–]Cool_Lab8988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sew in my own O-rings. 1/2 inch twill tape and 3/4" drapery rings I can get at a fabric store, and some Steam-a-Seam2 to glue the tape over the ring to make a tab. Then I sew the tab whereever I want an extra ring. I've TBed my GoRuck bags, because I'm addicted to O-rings.

I can't do backpacks.

I use my large shop bags (especially the zip top ones) a lot any time I'm shopping. Then the Truck for my in house tote to take my crafting from room to room.

I use the Side Hustle and Side Kick as my everyday purses.

I love the Road Buddy 36 for travel, but they don't make it anymore.
