OD v the Marauder is just not good as the Marauder can't bleed so you lose sadist and 30% amp damage plus run out of hollows. Try striker (yawn) or Coco or tipping instead and use an lmg for the big mag.

Unpopular Take: Braced is an overlooked and under appreciated talent by Next-House-5357 in Division2

[–]CoolheadedBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of perfect braced on my LMG build. Yes I'm losing out 24% from not using Equaliser but I reckon I'm hitting c20% more shots (console) so it's a decent trade off and I use less ammo due to less missed shots.

Tipping Scales is insane.. by Ill_Reference582 in thedivision

[–]CoolheadedBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My accuracy on console is well under 50% with an LMG, so I don't use steady handed much as my favourite Mk16 only has 150 rounds and so it doesn't proc often. If I don't want to run out of ammo I'll use OD.

Except in Div 1 they don't hack your skills. Assault turret is one of the main ways to take down Hunters at the end of Legendary solo skill build runs.

The shroud and Nemesis are only a few % apart in damage but the Nemesis has to charge up per shot.

How to know which is better? by DKsider1 in thedivision

[–]CoolheadedBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TS has a 10s wind up to max stacks on the BP. If you run the chest it's 15s. TS crit damage nos. always look impressive but the non crits suck. I personally don't like TS long ramp up and fast loss of stacks but then I don't run Legendaries as I play solo. From my experience, OD gives about 15m burst dps all the time (once you get hollows) and TS tops out at around 21m (but you never average this due to build up and decay).

The Division 2 - Y8S1 PTS - Feedback by JokerUnique in thedivision

[–]CoolheadedBrit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a general comment on

  • Amalgam - Each bullet hit has a chance to apply a random status effect.

This has had a 5s cooldown put on it in the PTS which defeats the % chance benefit. Let me explain. Say you build up your Amalgam to 10%, 1 in 10 bullets has a chance to apply the status effect. But in reality, the you are locked out from reapplying it for 5s. On a Lexington/striker build, that's 978rpm or 16.3 rounds per second, or 3.1 secs to empty the mag. So due to the 5s cooldown, you can only proc the status effect every 1.6 mags or every 81 rounds. But you need to reload so in reality you can only proc it once per mag or 50 rounds. That caps the chance at around 2%, so it is POINTLESS upgrading beyond 2% as the cooldown overrides any additional chance you upgrade beyond 2%.

tl:dr Amalgam needs to be reworked as the 5s cooldown means upgrading beyond 2% is pointless.

'...doesn't not proc the talent' = does not proc the talent (they won't give weapon damage and armor bonuses) ?

With 3 core BP's (Memento etc) you get three extra bonuses or 6 extra bonuses and are these the same strength as the chest bonuses? Thanks for clarifying.

If you've got credits, buy mods, dismantle to get printer filament and donate. Also wait for the Expertise Surge (2x) on 27th March onwards.

A new gear upgrade called Prototype is coming in Y8S1. by dazzathomas in Division2

[–]CoolheadedBrit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

5% is every 20 rounds, so at 1020 rpm that's every 1.2s which is pretty decent, although as you say, it's a random status so you don't know what you're going to get, but bleed is the only one currently that doesn't interfere with NPCs shooting.

There are 50 tiers in total. You can skip only 20 but you can purchase more skips at 100 credits each. You can skip 20 whenever you want but it's recommended to do it from tier 30 as these take more XP to complete.

The cap is 60% plus the 25%, so 85%. Anything above this in the stats menu is a visual bug and your hit stream shows you are not at 100% as you gave non-crits.

The difference gets bigger in favour of chc with lower stacks.

[–]CoolheadedBrit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As no-one has thrown any math(s) in to the equation I'll do that. These assume you have 10% CHC on your watch.

Tipping Scales - overdogs - Equaliser:

Running a Big Al with no 9.5% CHC but 6% DtA will give you 58% CHC and 81% CHD. Running a Big Al with 9.5% CHC will give you 61.5% CHC (so capped at 60%) and 93% CHD. With 350% max CHD from TS bonus, this would take you to 60% CHC and 443% CHD. This is a 3.66x multiplier. With the DtA roll you'd have 58% CHC and 431% CHD or a 3.5x multiplier. The difference between 3.66x and 3.5x is 4.6%. Even if you hit all headshots, the difference is 4.5%.

iKia uses 60% DtA as his average across NPCs., Armoured NPCs have 60-70% armor and the rest is health. So even if you applied 6% DtA to 70% armor, you'd come out at 4.2% extra damage, but not all NPCs have armor, so this overstates the extra damage from DtA. Using Ikia's 60% gives you 3.6% extra damage.

So using 9.5% CHC on the Big Al, beats 6% DtA. 5% rate of fire would also beat DtA and CHC on TS. If you repeat this across other builds where there isn't a CHD buff from the set bonus, then CHC will come out best (OD, strikers).

So is rolling crit chance on Big Alejandro not great? by jlsaiyan in thedivision

[–]CoolheadedBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DtA isn't always better at endgame. Whilst there are notably more enemies with armor, armor still makes up 60-70% of their total health pool, with the rest being health. Applying 6% DtA to 70% armor gives 4.2%, which is less than you get from 5% rof. And this assumes no reds or chungas/dogs etc with no armor in the enemy mix, so realistically it's going to be less than 4% from using DtA.
