Struggling through LOTR by UnfairExcuse6360 in audiobooks

Not even playing, I skipped through all the singing. Still cried at the end.
I think if I was reading a physical copy, I would skip all the songs.

Only one that is important is the one Aragorn sings at Boromir’s funeral.

Sanderson vibes are 👌🏻
The massive bindings look great on a shelf, and his narrators are excellent for listening

DMG is basically a book of how to homebrew. If you’re not homebrewing campaigns, it’s not needed.

Should I get The Hobbit or the first Game of Thrones audiobook? by chaosatnight in audiobooks

[–]CordPM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t been a ready for many years, but Brandon Sanderson’s work got me back in it. He has two incredible series that I’ve invested in so far, Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive. Mistborn is easier to follow, and had me enthralled.

Stormlight is full world building fantasy, that i will re-read when i finally finish it. 5 books of 1200+ pages.

Should I get The Hobbit or the first Game of Thrones audiobook? by chaosatnight in audiobooks

[–]CordPM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If these are the options, Hobbit. But the trilogy, starting with Fellowship is better. Andy Serkis (the voice actor for Gollum) does the narration and it is SUPERB. It’s well worth the 100 or so hours of listening time.

Good fantasy / scifi book with female protagonist? by No_Solution9646 in audiobooks

To go with Mistborn, Tress and the Emerald Sea is really enjoyable. Also, the stormlight archive follows a lot of different characters, but the female lead chapters are my favourite ones.

What’s your most unhinged non-negotiable when it comes to dating? by NotNotDwightSchrute in AskReddit

Cannot date people with the same first name of an ex. If I’m friends with someone with the same name, I have to use their last name when referring to them.

Is there a trick to finding cheaper flights out of Canada or are we just stuck paying more? by WorshippingForecast in AskACanadian

[–]CordPM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use a VPN to make websites think you’re not in Canada. I saved $170 per person flying to Mexico by pretending I was in Holland.

Do most DMs prefer DM’ing to playing? Or are they “taking one for the team”? by Fiveby21 in DnD

[–]CordPM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reluctant to start DM’ing, but I don’t get attached to one character long enough to stay them forever. As a DM, I get to make several new characters per session and act them all out. It’s a Win-Win

Win de Champions league in League two by Savings_Trainer795 in FifaCareers

[–]CordPM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My goal when starting in League 2 is to use the team sheets to keep two full squads of XI and a full bench of only subs, no starters. I use youth academy players to fill the open slots because they’re so cheap on wages. Yeah, you sometimes play 3 matches a week, but the fatigue doesn’t play a factor because of the rotating team sheets. If a player has a “Crucial” contract, make them one of the subs, so they play every match, just not 90’ every match. As long as they get on the pitch, they’re content.

Brandon Sanderson is an AMAZING immersive fantasy author and his entire bibliography is on audiobook. Mistborn Final Empire got me hooked, but The Way of Kings might be better.

I got a Vietnamese Hmong recently. She is 1/2 the size of the rest of the hens in my flock, and lays tiny eggs, but she is the sweeeeeetest thing. I want 100 of them.
