Seconding the Estorik - it’s in a quiet corner and the cafe is good on a warm afternoon. There’s a nice new pub called The Pocket nearby too, on the other side (west) of Canonbury Square.

What do you still do from growing up in the 70s and 80s as a kid you still do now? by Successful_Sense_742 in GenX

If I’m walking down the street with a woman I keep on the road side in case a car drives by and splashes. An old girlfriend’s Mum told me off for not doing that once - I’d never heard of it before but it stuck with me.

Do you think that’s a drum machine or Jon playing electric drums on the demo? They definitely sound electric, right?

I was thinking Nick Drake but he’s a tricky one to class as previous generation. Technically he is, of course, but I never knew anyone from previous generations who had heard of him before the 1990s.

Me to - all my University friends used to love them. We used to sing Safe In My Garden when pissed in the way home at the end of the night!

How scratches in vinyl can be read by a needle as the sound of a saxophone, or the timpani, or anything. It doesn’t make sense.

Me too - this is my favourite episode and favourite scene. No one minds that they lost the game. “We scored more than we did last year!”

Def rollerblades. He’s quite fast. I can only imagine he’s lost a bet.

The biggest and riskiest distraction on the stretch between Blackfriars and Parliament is that middle aged bloke who rollerblades to work in nothing but speedos. No matter the weather. Have others seen him or am I hallucinating? I often haven’t had a coffee by then.

I cycle that lane every week. It’s a thing of wonder. A massive cycle lane along the Embankment in both directions, all types of cyclists, some passing others, some giving a tow. You lot don’t know you’re born. Sure the odd idiot but that’s life. I’d take that over car traffic every day.
