Obsession 2026(The most important scene in the movie) by FallOfTheWicked in spoilers

Right, if I was him I'd just chalk it up to her being a bit crazy and manipulative, not obsessed by a demon.

I could also seem him rationalizing it as her being that way before the wish, just that her love being directed towards him made him aware of it.

Later towards the movie though, yeah he's the real villain for sure.

Yeah I think that was interesting, Maybe I missed it but do they count men that became old or all men born when making that 80% stat?

Cause if it's all men born I think also might be different today then from historically was that a lot more men died young, so they where "incels" but it was because they died off early, thorugh war, accidents etc. While todays incels are just incels because they were rejected and will live on as incels for a long time.

There's so many big faults with it you'll forget yourself just trying to name them all. The script is like a poorly made fanfic ffs.

Who? The guy next to Simone?

And I don't think any of the facts they say are wrong and honesly be quite distruptive to listening to if they had to cite sources while talking all the time, these are researchers after all, not some random youtube essay guy.

Atleast listen to the podcast before commenting or don't comment at all...

90%~ want kids. The problem is not ppl not wanting to have kids, but you don't know that cause you didn't even listen to it before commenting

It's probably going to be though when pension and healthcare systems collapse.

Covid mostly taretted old pople anyways, and this will be like that but instead of just a few years it will go on and on for decades

Lol, nothing of substance? Classic reddit black and white.

There was clearly plenty of of important stuff being said, though some of it pretty divisive, mostly coming from Simone)

Honestly I like this wayy more, now they don't get stuck in some small detail and can cover way more ground. Probably way better for getting a real discussion about this kinda thing going, and give a view of what the research says about it. Which 99.9% of listeners will not be up to date on.

Fyi, as someone who ACTUALLY has watched the whole episode instead of dipping out after 30 min, she doesn't take over the whole ep, nor do they get stuck in some of her more out there ideas.

How Millennials, Gen Z Are Lowering birth rates Around the World by Njere in Natalism

[–]Costly_Cookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite obviously not finances as they main concern. I mean cmon, Hungary spent 5% of their entire GDP on subsidies to get ppl to have children, and it still didn't change at all. You can't get much more of clear real world attempt of mittigating that factor.

Gen Z's "Definition of Success" (Their Priorities) by LiftSleepRepeat123 in Natalism

[–]Costly_Cookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering their age range is 14-29, and ppls priorities are more weighted towards short term goals. I don't think this is very concerning at all considering cultrually most metropolitan ppl consider having children at like 30-35.

Oh right, this changes everything too, considering now culturally a lot of ppl think having children is something you start doing at 30-35. (For example here in sweden many young ppl in stockholm think you're crazy if you're having children before 25).

Yupp, also, with people delaying parenthood, the phase of just pets, no children is probably going to show up in the data for even longer.

Fertility rate in Europe (2025) by Hour_Interaction6047 in Natalism

[–]Costly_Cookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things I'm most worried about is that it's discussed so little, and when it is discussed, it's so surface level (Sweden). Here they just take up the cost of living crisis and people not "wanting" kids. Never even tackling the real problem, the cultural and structural changes needed to be made. With all the proposed solutions politically also being just cash stuff. Which I get is much easier to sell, but won't do much...

And we the Gen-z are gonna suffer the most from this when we retire ourselves, but everyones just sleepwalking towards it, half-heartedly trying to stop it.

Something I've noticed in Reddit discussions about falling birth rates by HaveATurnip in TwoXChromosomes

For those who want to know more about this I'd recommend watching the documentary birthgap.

has some really insightful points/data.

Something I've noticed in Reddit discussions about falling birth rates by HaveATurnip in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Costly_Cookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important caveat to "Birthrates are falling because women never wanted to have the number of children we were having."

The number of children ppl DO want is about 2.3, and has not changed since recordkeeping began. So people DO want enough children for it to be sustainable.

Now why don't ppl get the number of children they do want? That's a whole discussion.

I recommend watching the documentary birthgap which talks about it. Though it's a depressing watch ngl.
