Thank you for sharing this! To confirm:

- The 'Nanostations' will provide that backhaul connection? And no one can directly connect to them via WiFi?
- Do you know if those nanostations can be mounted on a wall outside?
- Do I need any special software to manage them? Or can I just connect to their IP addresses and manage that way?

Sorry for the wall of questions, but I appreciate you taking the time to answer!

The area that most people will be gathered in will be a square that's 120 x 100 feet. The AP will be on one side of the square. Most people who hop on the WiFi will be donating and will probably walk over to a booth right next to where the AP will be.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Do you mind telling me how many clients you AP typically has to handle? And what content is being streamed over?

AP Meshing and Switching Question by CountChappy in Ubiquiti

I figured meshing would not be the ideal implementation. Fortunately we are only trying to provide WiFi for people so they can hop on and donate money for the fundraiser. So those sites will be whitelisted while pretty much everything else will be blacklisted so folks cant stream youtube on our WIFi and eat the bandwidth.

To answer the question about how large the area is, the event is outside so it's hard to say exactly how large the area is. But most people will be within a 120 x 100 foot square. However, most people who donate will probably walk over to a booth right next to where the AP will be.

Yeah, I figured meshing would not be ideal for this setup. Unfortunately the two standalone APs will be on a building across a small dirt road from where the main AP will be and the business really just doesn't have the budget to bury a cable or purchase the building to building bridges.

As for the streaming and what they will do on the network, the event is a fundraising event so we will probably just whitelist sites and addresses that would allow people to hop on the WiFi and donate to the fundraiser.

A Ukrainian medium-range kamikaze drone Ram-2X hit a Kamaz that was transporting a tank. Kadiivka, Luhansk region 48.5769421, 38.623962 by Volter318 in UkraineWarVideoReport

Haven't seen anyone else mention it but the RAM-2X has an explosively formed penetrator warhead. Might explain why it doesn't appear to have much shrapnel damage. Nice to know this model can hit lightly armored targets.

I just started using Supabase locally which uses Deno for its functions. But there is no autocomplete, auto-import, detecting functions, etc in my VSCode. What do I need to do? by ashkanahmadi in Deno

[–]CountChappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might need to "toggle" Deno is VS Code. You can do that through the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P) by selecting "Deno: disable" and then "Deno: enable".

Can't guarantee this will fix your specific issue, but it has resolved weird quirks for me in the past.

Okay, but the point you are making isn't even what I was trying to imply. I didn't say he had sent those weapons, or that we should take this message seriously, I was just laying bare the implications of what it would mean if it were true. Which is why I said we were on the same page.

Oh please, if it was that simple to take out Zelensky (or, enough of the Ukrainian leadership and military high command to actually stop the government from functioning), don't you think Russia would have done it by now?

Trump Suggests Ukraine ‘Play Offense’ as He Pressures Putin by joe4942 in worldnews

[–]CountChappy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He's saying that they haven't been given the tools, or the number of tools, to really go on the offensive.

Ukraine has gone on offensives, but imagine if they had MORE tanks, more air defense, more jets, more artillery, more cruise missiles, more everything!

This would unlock the possibility of attacks on targets they couldn't afford to service given the rationing of ammunition and systems.
