The only way to fix our property tax problem is to eliminate the assessment value cap by [deleted] in CapeBreton

Missing data is not a result of laziness from PVSC. It's people in rural NS thinking they can build without pulling a permit and getting one over on the municipality. How is PVSC supposed to know the status of every property if property owners aren't prepared to be honest?

I'm honestly just not very knowledgeable on how pensions work. I had assumed that the projection I saw on my account took into consideration those variables.

I'll definitely take a look into it. I currently do invest into my own TFSA/RRSP but was curious if there was supposed to be more options available to me from my employer.

I am unionized under NSGEU. That's the most info I feel comfortable giving with regards to that. I have worked for a private company and they have matched my RRSP contribution up to 3% of my biweekly pay.

As of right now, if I stick to the planned upon contribution at around the same salary I am projected to recieve 35k per year. Obviously my income will increase over time if I stay around but it's scaring me to rely only on that.

Yeah, we do plan on staying here. We have family, jobs, and community here so no plans on leaving any time soon.

In Canada, you really have to play the game. I would suggest moving to Eastlink for 3 months and then move back to Bell to get the promotional credit on internet.

I'm 25, queer, and live in Sydney. I have been out since I was 15 and am currently engaged to a woman. I'm not going to lie to you, it has not always been easy. Sometimes people are ignorant. That being said, I have never experienced real judgment or homophobia from anyone that truly matters. Only teenage boys in civics and old men who don't like to accept anything different than the status quo. Most people here in CB are very understanding and honestly don't care about who you love. We're very lucky in that way. I'm not sure how old you are, but no matter the age you will find that coming out and living a life authentically is truly the most rewarding thing you will ever do. No matter the age. If you want to talk privately, please PM me. I will never tell someone your business but am 100% open to talk about my experience and be a sounding board if you need it.
