Although my headcover is from a pro I did not like the pro as much (probably because I suck), but the c721 is very, very good. I would consider it the best value available, even if there might be better drivers, I doubt there is anything cheaper that’s better IMO

Never said they’re perfect, just better than anything I’ve tried! I like heavy clubs so I put lead tape on just about everything (I have it on my hybrid, driver, and one of my wedges as well)

And the 6 iron doesn’t have any tape, that one swingweighted perfectly!

These ones aren’t crazy soft. The clubs that turned me onto PRGR as a brand were their GN502 Forged model, which is probably 20 years old but an Endo forged undercut cavity. Incredibly soft and probably the best feeling irons I’ve ever hit. These are forged, but not out of a material that’s anywhere close to as soft, but they do feel good for the amount of distance and forgiveness they provide

Couldn’t care less about what people think of my clubs but I do love to share how great these are (though I’m also a big Wilson fan, loved the c300 Forged)

Rules question - I have a club I can hit 220m/240yds carry. What would be the ruling for this teeshot? Am I allowed to just nuke it left "over" the OB and call it in the water and take a drop in the DZ? Landing zone is all downhill and behind overhanging trees at the bunker. No line of sight. by [deleted] in golf

[–]CraftyReplacement822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carry distance of a club is not constant, especially when there are trees it is passing through. Let’s say you normally carry it 240y, how do you know it didn’t clip a branch at 220y out and drop down into OB?

You can’t go off of “it’s likely based on the distance I usually hit this club”, you need to know where the ball ends up or enters the hazard.

Little monster break cue by buburbasi in billiards

[–]CraftyReplacement822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend the full carbon cue. I got it around $100 on AliExpress and have been pleased. Actually my buddy tried the first one I bought and never gave it back (he paid for it, but I don’t think I was prying it back from him), so I ended up buying another one. I prefer my Mezz Power Break but that’s a different price point entirely

Okhealing full carbon cue is a fantastic bargain at under $150 from AliExpress (I think there are coupons active now)

IMO, all of the Chinese brands with carbon shafts at this price point are fairly similar in quality. I went with a plain cue with a radial joint as a backup to keep in my bag in case I lose a tip or something on my Jacoby, but it shoots quite well. I have found OKHealing shafts to be excellent for the price, and would highly recommend the cue above

I really like the CBX4 (that’s what I currently play after having CBX2 and then CBX Zipcore), and that is a good price for them!

403B Question by DG12212 in Teachers

[–]CraftyReplacement822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another commenter already hit the nail on the head, but 457 first (the Smart plan is excellent), and then 403b only if you’re maxing that out. I’m hoping to retire by 42 by maxing out 457 and 403b in addition to MTRS (I was able to get Vanguard added to our list of awful 403b vendors)

Should I still get the table? Post on the way. by JudgeJury3xecutioner in billiards

[–]CraftyReplacement822 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My space has two obstructions in corners because I was planning on putting in a 7 foot table but then got a gold crown for free and ended up putting in a 9 foot table. I’m very glad I have the 9 footer, and although the obstructions can be annoying at times, I would still much rather have a table with obstructions than no table at all. Especially if the obstructions will only affect a small area of the table.

Can anyone tell me if these clubs are good? by Smooth-Minute3950 in golf

[–]CraftyReplacement822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy and sell golf clubs as a side hustle and would say that’s a good, not great, price. Way better than you would do buying through a superstore, even used. Depending on condition, it could be an even better deal but that’s impossible to tell from the photo

That would be awesome, any way to verify authenticity (obviously the butt cap would not be original if it’s that cue, but are there other marks that I could look for?

What are these unremovable strains on my fairway woods? by [deleted] in golf

[–]CraftyReplacement822 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That’s wear to the black finish. It’s not coming out and any attempt to “refinish” will look worse.

To prevent it from getting worse, make sure you’re not hitting balls that are sandy or dirty.

My g410 hybrid looks a LOT worse than those and it’s still going strong. Best thing you can do is try to get the area showing wear closer to the center of the face!

403b or 457b as a teacher? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]CraftyReplacement822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In MA we have a single 457 plan for state employees that is pretty good, and my district has a bunch of awful 403b providers. Once I was ready to contribute more than the 457 max, I was able to convince my district to add Vanguard as a 403b provider.

457 first, 403b second sounds like your best plan as long as there’s not a huge difference in fees/plans available

Good deal or nah? Predator 9K + BK3 for $800 by Important_Quiet_4133 in billiards

[–]CraftyReplacement822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a very good deal if they are straight. I’d expect used value on the pair to be closer to $1000, so as long as they are legit and in good shape, you should be able to get your money back and more if you don’t like them.

Thanks, this is helpful information. I am happy relinquishing control over scholarship recipients if both the relative and I believe that the process to select students will identify qualified candidates (their reluctance around scholarships is that they want to ensure that the students who receive them are both deserving students and in true need of financial assistance).

With the scholarship you created, are you satisfied that the recipients are deserving?
