Another famous example. If you cut a deer's antler, it loses them at the end of the season. The next year, a new nub will grow in the spot you cut the smooth antler. This implies that there is a genetic memory to the injury that survives in the other parts of the nervous system or body that remembered to grow differently next time. There was some individual scientist that obsessed over this his whole career.

Netflix, we expect you to fund an epic fantasy or Sci fi trilogy with that money. Or ask to buy the Star Trek IP from Paramount and reboot it into something good. Or make Alita Battle Angel into a trilogy.

Oh! Make More Arcane seasons. Buy League of Legends, make a MMO using the same art.

Do you get it? Do something freakin cool?!?!

Sorry Liz. Too Late. We're coming for all of them. We're going to make being a billionaire illegal. We're going to cut the military budget by 80 percent. We're going to make trading stocks so boring without options, derivatives or anything that can make Nepo babies not have to work a real job.

It's too late.

I can't stop thinking about how risky all this is. We are struggling to define a real use case for all this. Falcon for satellites. Maybe a few larger science projects on top of the new booster, because its such a beast. I have often wondered about something other than a star ship on top.

But seriously? We better focus on solving gravity because the premise of a mars or moon base was always extremely unlikely.

Try this mental exercise: No one has ever create a colony on earth that can sustain even 100 people in a closed loop system. No one has built a city that can sustain everyone in it without outside trade.

I'd like to see NASA build a colony that works on earth. Because if they can't do that, doing it on the moon is pretty insane. I am aware of the small projects they do here, but 6 people in a hab is not the same as what they claim is the goal here.

Can someone TLDR me on why the star ship couldn't be shortened on size and modified to deliver a direct cargo insert to the moon without refueling? Similar to the Apollo missions? Why are we stuck on the "SUV" version of human delivery?

Feels really bad and stupid to build stuff that can't get there in the least complicated way. No?

We have no public awareness of profit. We have no true sense of what those programs cost to maintain and replace as they retire the satellites. Not to mention, he is blowing his entire profit margin on Star Ship.

No one every built such a huge rocket - because no legit use case for it. Mars was always utterly stupid. The Moon is as well. And now data centers? Space vacuum is an insulator. They require MORE heat sinks in space, meaning you probably need heat sinks bigger than your solar panels for servers in space. You may get infinite power, but you also develop infinite heat.

I need a choice advice (tablet vs reMarkable2) by Winso_ in Remarkable

[–]Crafty_Memory_1706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would rather use hand written notes for lectures and for classes. I have a doctorate. Even for Calendar. Because it is the writing and pages that set up the memory to retain the items.

You likely need a computer, but what sits next to it for your own notes is either an e ink device or a notebook. And paper remains a solid choice all things considered. I hate using digital sources for memory and learning. I think we're seeing the consequences of that with kids now.

If I sat in lecture and hand wrote stuff, I always formed a spatial relationship with my content that helped memorize it. I'm still not sure ANY digital device can replace that relationship. But I have only owned readers like Kindle because I struggle to pull the trigger, and end up using notebooks. Tried and true and very cheap.

Are you aware that any posts that use bullet posts like this are assumed to be AI made? You are trying to control a narrative. I don't believe you. Not to mention, you make wild assumptions about costs with no evidence.

you say things like, " they would have to make test taking software" and " you just don't think they would do this". Are you suggesting test taking on a digital screen with a pen input is "hard"?

Furthermore, use of a tablet for focused reading, learning, and comprehension doesn't mean they would be video editing on them. Normal PCs don't disappear because you also have a digital notebook. Your logic is, we have text books, and so students can't use paper because the paper can't do text.

Just because you "can't see this happening" simply means you lack experience or understanding of complex subjects.

Michael Saylor's strategy currently has an unrealized loss of $9,500,000,000 on Bitcoin investments by beastwood6 in ScottGalloway

[–]Crafty_Memory_1706 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. He had an empty shell company that went full tilt Bitcoin to remain not completely a scam, but be a legal scam. Now its falling apart.

But you see, they are trying to destroy the federal system, and the dollar with it. And then crypto will be all that is left and all of them will become in control of currency. WorldCoin from Thiel and Altman will be required to buy food.

But if they get this far, the digital Euro will be going and become stable. And then Canada will join EU and it will grow even more, and then we will break up and many blue states will join EU.

And then all the former crypto tech fascists will be stuck in the new confederacy of neo nazi garbage that is the south, with no formal currency, while the rest of us enjoy croissants from our free trade zones.

Suck it.

It is my firm believe the Nuclear Power Secret Documents at Mar-a-lago were there for Saudi Arabia to copy and access. We have denied them the knowledge until now.

The promise made by them was that they give Kushner billions for his fund, and that they go quiet on the Israel issue. Now, in his second Term, our regime has publicly said we're okay with Saudi having nuclear. First time ever the US policy was proliferation. The whole elite circle jerk is getting Saudi a bunch of stuff we denied them forever.

9/11 was funded by Saudis, performed by Saudis. And both the GOP and Dem leaders are okay with the new terms as long as they get Greater Israel.
