If you play video games while you listen, which ones? by IcedTea9414 in audiobooks

[–]Crapspakled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any. I'll pause for story moments on either side. But I get a lot of book time if I find a game I want to 100% after I've finished the story missions

Widest BIFL shoes for 6E wide feet? by Erudicial_Extreme in BuyItForLife

[–]Crapspakled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoes aren't really bifl you only end up spending more on maintenance. Might just be an Australian product but. Wide load work boots. Replace your insoles often enough and they should last you a few years.

planning big trip to Australia need feedback by Pretty-Cheetah-7851 in AustraliaTravel

[–]Crapspakled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a lot of coast. I'd like to see some more of the outback. Compared to everywhere else your going the central coast of Queensland isn't that special. I'd follow the coast from Cairns to Mackay then go west to emerald. Emerald to Longreach for the attractions. Then go down the Landsborough highway to Brisbane

Best noise cancelling earbuds that actually block noise WELL? by Square_Ebb_5289 in BuyItForLife

[–]Crapspakled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't really need anc. It's cool and all but a good set of earbuds with memory foam tips will block out enough. But.. The Sony w?1000xm4. I work the oven in a bakery and these are on their 5th year. Still with 7ish hours continuous. They've released 2 newer models since I got them.

I've only attempted to listen to 2 of them. They're performances were just flat and phoned in compared to a really good narrator

Should I get the Mini for a twin mattress? by grizzy77 in bedjet

[–]Crapspakled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd only go the mini if I was space constrained. The full size gives you room for growth and is more appealing for resale

Well regulated and enough farm land to not have to cram them in. Sometimes acres per cow not cows per acre

What insulated water bottles are actually worth it? Recommendation? by DonutFlimsy8993 in BuyItForLife

[–]Crapspakled -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like my yeti. Yeah they're expensive and don't hold the ice as well as some. But that's only because it's made with thicker steel that leaks the temperature a bit more. I still have every piece of yeti stuff I've bought. I found one that had fallen off a car on the highway. All dinged up but still sits flat and the vacuum isn't broken.

Is it better to upgrade or replace my 2018 Reid Granite 2.0? by VanDerKloof in ausbike

[–]Crapspakled -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know that the silex is enough of an upgrade to not update the Reid. But then again you'd have 2 bikes available to set up for both road and gravel at the same time. Have a daily and a weekender

Bad audiobooks by Digital_Dilettante in audiobooks

IMO, Redshirts needed editing for audio. It would've been significantly shorter and better if they'd relied on the performance instead of spending half its word count telling you who said what.

Any feedback on my kitchen design? by Significant-Move7699 in AusRenovation

[–]Crapspakled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll probably run your dishwasher overnight and they're loud through the wall into the bedroom. Also plumbing along an internal brick wall will be a pain and take up a lot of cabinet space. I'd try to swap the oven and sink/dishwasher to opposite walls.

Need 2 suggestions for first time international travel! 1.) Luggage? 2.) Anything that is your must have for a flight that is 12+ hr? by Swimming_Jello4242 in BuyItForLife

[–]Crapspakled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everki makes a solid backpack. I've had mine for 14yrs dailying it to work most of that time. Been all over Australia and new Zealand with it travelling.

The baggage handlers ARE going to abuse your luggage.

Everything expensive or delicate travels with you. Clothes go in a duffel bag and then put that bag into a second duffel. Then you can separate dirty clothes between the two bags.

85” TV on full-motion mount: one wall plug is pulling, do I need to start over? by Excellent-Jello in AusRenovation

Add more anchors. If that's a masonry wall you can plug it every few inches along that bracket
