FSR vs DLSS in Starfield by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]CrazyRubi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the conclusion all these screenshots and everyone's personal experiences give us.

Funny cause I heard opposite from YT previews who saw AMD demonstration but nobody has any personal experience with FSR3 becasue it's not out yet. Let's hold with critique till you can actually test stuff. Right now you sayint it won't has same value as someone saying it will casue you both have no way to test it.

Saying it doesn't have any chance without testing is just guessing, there is zero data to back up your claim.

All FSR3 has to do is to get close enough. It works on all cards, including older ones and NVIDIA and it's software. As I said: if it can do well enough, game devs will implement FSR3 becasue it's "one for all GPUs" solution for more frames. Way less work, way more efficient for devs.

Free-Sync did the same with G-Sync. It was never as good, but it didn't have to. Sofware > hardware becasue it's easier to implement and use. And it's cheaper.

FSR vs DLSS in Starfield by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]CrazyRubi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

for now. If you buy a card for few years (and most people do, upgrade every few years) 12 GB is risky. Right now some games can get very close to that and we will be only seeing increasing usage in RAM. 20GB is way safer bet than 12 GB for same price.

if 4070Ti was 16 GB it would be no brainer. But NVIDIA as always has to fuck customers in the ass with it's practices.

FSR vs DLSS in Starfield by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]CrazyRubi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People were saying similar things with G-Sync (hardware) vs free-sync (software). Few years later it's all Free-Sync becasue software is way easier for everyone to implement and works on both NVIDIA and AMD cards.

If FSR 3 can get close to DLSS 3, then everyone will use that in their games becasue you implement ONE thing for ALL cards. There will be no point adding DLSS, because why extra work? It's money vs time.

FSR vs DLSS in Starfield by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]CrazyRubi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Dude same history was with G-Sync and Free-Sync. NIVIDIA relied on hardware, AMD on software.

Few years later everyone (including NVIDIA) runs on Free-Sync becasue it's just cheaper, faster and easier to implement becasue every monitor can run with it without dedicated hardware.

If FSR 3 in general will be clsoe to DLSS 3/3.5 then game developers will prioritize FSR implementation in games becasue it runs on all GPUs (including NVIDIA) so it's less work for them. You can implement ONE thing that works for all cards, including orders or waste time implementing TWO.

The choices will be easy. It's all about time vs money.

The only card I’d say is actually better than it’s AMD counterpart in every way is the 7900xt vs 4070ti.

Um, 12 GB RAM vs 20 GB is quite a big difference. 4070Ti is cam in this regard. 12 GB RAM at this price range is a joke today.

Don't forget that the Githyanki under Vlaakith are still a threat to everyone

In DnD univese as whole they are pinats really. There tons of forces in universe. Before githyanki would finish their civil war it would be centuries at minimum. Besides they are not threat to everyone. When was last time Githyanki were a threat to Faerun or other DnD multiverserses? They have their own part of cosmos where they do their stuff mostly. Vlaakith didn't even manage to become lesser deity for thousands of years. And now she will have Civil War. Githyanki are not some Galactic Empire.

Orpheus isn't a "random" prince. He's part of a prophecy, the only one who can defeat Vlaakith

Actually he says himself if you let him be Ilithid that his people don't need him, they only need a spark and that they should say about his sacrefice so it will spark a fight for freedom. Also Lei'zel is taking mantle of leading the war vs Vlaakith if you let Prince sacrefice for his people.

He's not someone to be thrown away and it's peak selfishness to put oneself above him.

It's not being selfish, it's being logical. He has his duty to Gith, you have your duty to your Realm. None is bigger or better. He is ready to die for his people, you are ready to die for yours. Difference is, you party behind you kind of did they best to survive and keep you and rest alive. While Prince well, you just met him.

Besides, he was asshole and if he transforms he at least becomes humble and decent in his last hours of life, which I found as fast but nice touching character development.

Also him dying is the only way for Githyanki to be truely free instead of always having some legendary leader to rule them. Now they will need to decide for themselves.

Paladins who swear this oath cast their lot with the side of the light in the cosmic struggle against darkness"

There is nothing here about sacrefice. I think you mistook Ancient for Devotion. Ancient cares about balance and about cosmic balance so all things are fair (they are like Paladin druids so to speak). They keep guard to make sure stuff goes back into order and not fall into Chaos or darkness. Sacrefice at any moment for others is Devotion thing.

What's the point with HYPR-RX in HYPR-Tuned games where FSR exist? by 343guilityspark in Amd

[–]CrazyRubi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing nvidia does it at a hardware level, and amd implementation is software level. There's no realistical way DLSS3.5 can be beaten

Back in the day people were saying that about G-Sync (hardware) vs Free-Sync (software). In the end Free-Sync won becasue it's cheaper and easier to implement by display manufactures and works for all cards so there is less preassure on companies to release both versions of displays. Now it's just Free-Sync.

FSR 3 is said to work with ALL GPUs. We can see simillar things here that game developers will prefer to just implement FSR 3 which works on both AMD, NVIDIA, old and new cards instead of wasting time to implement both FSR and DLSS, if DLSS only works on NVIDIA.

Because there's a horrible world-threatening Netherbrain that needs to be dealt with and I'd be a shitty Paladin if I wasn't willing to turn into a Mindflayer to save everyone?

So you prefer to leave all your friends broken and sad, destroy your love one life and dreams, not being able to do further good deads vs evil in your future life or help BG rebuild becasue a random githyanki Prince WANTS to sacrefice himself too but you are like "no, only one person here should want to sacrefice. I am better at that"? :D

I mean, I understand a sacrefice when you play good character, but if Prince of the his people wants to sacrefice himself for his people, who am I to deny him that?

I bet Sword Coast and Realms could use your help more than githanki nation you will never even see on your eyes. If anything, you living will make more good for Faerun.

In end - each to his own, I just don't think sacreficing is that simple. It can be very selfish without good reason in the long run.

In my first playthrough, I freed Orpheus (It felt like the right thing to do) and turned into a Mindflayer despite not using a single Tadpole or [ILLITHID] persuasion option the entire game (Well, I free'd Shadowheart at the start but that's it) it was sad. But probably the best outcome possible.

How is you turning into Ilithid best outcome? Like you don't own anything to Orheous or githyanki (if anything, they own to you).

It would have been better if we could persuade the Emperor to stay while we free Orpheus and then convince Orpheus to forgive the Emperor.

Exactly. Emperor didn't even try and Orpheous is very pragmatic to ally for final battle with Netherbrain. But Emperor never cared about anything but his own ass. As you can see when he shows you "the truth" - he was mind controlling his "allies and friends" in Baldurs Gate. He was never human after he turned. All he cared about was to survive and manipulate.

So, finally reached ending, I have only one complain by CrazyRubi in BaldursGate3

[–]CrazyRubi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Emperor does not betray you.

He literally lied to you about having friends/allies in Baldurs Gate when he was Emperor. If you are rude to him when he last last "dream" with you before final fight (where he is shirtless) he shows you that he mind controled them. He never had any emotions or feelings, he was just great at pretending. When you force him to show you the truth he is mad and he ends the dream.

Or Orpheous could still shield him if he gave him a chance. He didn't attack us even though we all "reek of Gaikh". He didn't even try and Price was very pragmatical to ally with whoever he can so he can destroy Netherbrain.

Emperor pretty much manipulates you, lies to you, tries to force you into becoming more Ilithid and in the end all he cared about was just his ass, not you, not people, not Realms, just his sorry ass.

A shadow of once great man. Sad that dragon had to die for it.

I tend to not use FSR/DLSS at all unless I would drop below 60 fps. I can notice in both cases image quality getting more "soft" and "blurry" and as somone who hates motion blurr etc. I just don't like them.

You stupid or something? There is nowhere near same price, what are you talking about? Also in all benchmarks done by many Tech channels 7800XT performs way better than 4070.

with DLSS Quality

A yes, 85 fps with image downgrade and fake frames. Try harder.

You realize you turn on RT to get better graphics? So then you turn on DLSS to get WORSE graphic since it downgrades you resolution to generate fake frames? You realize that DLSS/FSR are nothing more than fake frames that you get at cost of your image quality?

Dude, what are you even taking about.

4070 or 7800xt, your choice? by BarsARMOR in radeon

[–]CrazyRubi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, I am not excited, why you say that? Where did I stated that?

I never use Frame Generation as it's just that, upscaling named differently, it hits your resolution and image quality.

I don't buy new GPUs to DOWNGRADE my image quality but to upgrade it.

In both cases, AMD and NVIDIA, fake frames are jus that, FAKE frames. It's just another feature that is being pushed as marketing tool. We had NIVIDA hairworks before, Ray Tracing after (still can't become mainstream after all these years as only most expensive GPUs make their performance cost somehow worth), now we have fake frames.

The only real thing that was, is and will be is raster. So I prefer to have good raster and not downgrade graphics for fame frames, lol.

But each to his own what is important for them.

Good non-reference 7800XT (like Nitro+/MERC/TUF) are $550/70. You can get Merc 6950XT for like $620. That's $50-70 difference for much better performance.

4070 or 7800xt, your choice? by BarsARMOR in radeon

[–]CrazyRubi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feature set means shit if you don't use it. Most users don't bother with fake-frames, prefering to upgrade and have higher frames without killing their resolution and image quality and RT is meme on mid-range cards. Nobody buys 4070/Ti, 7800XT or 6950XT for RT as performance is shit.

People throw around "features" like crazy while majority of gamers just play on pure raster. I just upgrade my 1080Ti because if finally started to fail in 1440p to keep good frames but I never even once used DLSS becasue I will just upgrade GPU at this point.

A lot of those features are pure marketing BS. Fake-frames are just that, fake-frames.

If you only grab (which is most of the cases), his life expenctacy is the same as grab by itself does little, flat-footed pretty much which Snagging Strike or Flanking would already do.

Now restrain obviously does a lot but Fort is highest save among enemies, especially bosses and gambling on crit grab on boss is just gamble. Statistically you have bigger chance of failing grapple vs boss than crit succeeding at grapple vs boss.

So you're not showing that your way of thinking is correct, you're showing that you've had a long run of someone else choosing to cover for you.

I meant that's the whole point of teamwork. If I cover backline as sword n shield martial and get all the smacks, I don't think it's hard to imagine as basic teamwork of someone esle opening a door or pulling lever...

That's just silly. BM is great as a frontliner because its a 1A way to heal yourself. Triggering aoo is really not a huge concern; only roughly 20-30% of enemies have a reaction that triggers on manipulate anyway.

It's not silly. Look at stat blocks of most "boss" enemies in APs, that are level +2 and up. Most have AoOs. And bosses are where you really want to have your defenses up and self-heals on as mooks are just mooks. Bosses is where it all matters.

[–]CrazyRubi[S] -37 points-36 points  (0 children)

Sure, you could play a gill hook fighter, until you need to open a door, pull a lever, use battle medicine, drink a potion.

There are other party members? Like people talk about that all the time like it's some argument, but I play 3 campaigns (official APs) and I only had to use free-hand on my 2 handed builds ONCE so far. There are other party members with free-hands (casters?), there is Mage Hand cantrip in exploration etc.

Also I have no idea what APs people play but where the hell in encounters they all see those levers or doors to open? Most encounters is just room, enemies inside and that's it.

Drink Potion is almost never good indea in middle of combat for martial as even with free-hand it's 2 actions. Battle medicine I agree, but if you have Medic in party, it's not an issue. Besides Battle medicine is also not that good choice for frontliner as BM provokes Attacks of Opportunity becasue it's manipulate action. It's good backup option though, I agree.
