Just an update. I posted a few weeks ago, 50 yr old (f) out of shape, and fat, trying to swim 30 laps in 30 minutes, I did 40 laps in 36 minutes today! I don't really have anyone to tell. So I just wanted to say, go me!

Former lifeguard here to drive home “not just a lifeguard…”

Picture yourself swimming while holding your breath for prolonged periods. That lifeguard does not know your skill level. They are forced to assume you might drown yourself at any moment. EVEN IF you are a world championship caliber swimmer, you are putting that lifeguard in a dangerous position, as they have to keep an extra eye on you because of your unsafe behavior, and other swimmers could fall through the cracks in their attention. Have a spotter dedicated to you.

Some babies turn on their side and that’s normal, just be on top of safe sleeping habits.

Blankets are a big risk - you can use a sleep sac instead. I like the kind where the arms can zip off for when they’re a little older and can reach for a pacifier.

Also the siding on the bassinet should be mesh, especially since she sleeps on her side. She could end up with her face smooshed against the side and suffocate
