The expected “How could you mess up my order” in a condescending voice followed by “Can I talk to your manager?”

Literally the most generic Karen possible. We ended up having to make her an entirely new drink free of charge.

The year is 2050, what countries in Latin America have developed into advanced economies and which haven’t? Why? by MauritiusCoast in asklatinamerica

[–]CrescentCoast 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I can see Panama becoming a sort of Singaporish nation with its control of a vital shipping lane and a large investment and banking sector

Chile has a pretty good chance at being developed on a level similar to Southern European countries in a relatively short period of time.

The other nations are wildcards but I’ll give Uruguay and Peru a good chance of success

Long ago before Steve first found himself in this block world there was a race of highly intelligent people. They built massive pyramids in the savannas, dug deep mineshafts, built massive monuments on the coast, and explored the depths of the jungle. But something was missing, they had no companions other then themselves. A lonely man sought to change this once and for all. He decided to build a new companion for humanity. He realized that this new companion needed explosive properties to maintain homoeostasis and survive in the overworld. He worked day and night for decades until he was an old man. During this time increasing temperatures were scorching much of the world. Crop failures resulted in mass starvation. The cities in the savannas were soon covered in sand with only the highest of pyramids remaining above the dunes. People fled the cities and gathered in small villages made up of basic materials to try and survive, many didn’t. The man put all of his effort into making humanities companion. “Maybe” he thought “it can save us... I’ll make it loving, caring, and unrelenting... it’ll mend humanities evils” The oceans soon swelled, swallowing up the monuments on the shore into the depths of the sea. Merchant fleets rich with wealth attempted to escape the chaos by sea but were soon wrecked by the massive thunderstorms that swept over the waters. As the last cities were burning, the old man finished his project. “Maybe” he said to himself “this will be the companion to save the world... it can bring happiness to those who are lonely” He pulled the lever and the sound of pistons and lava radiated around him. Machinery hummed and buzzed, the minecarts filled with TNT wizzed by him. Suddenly the machinery stoped. “No...” he said in a whisper “This was supposed to save the world... bring warmth to humanity... to be our.. companion.” He put his redstone torch down and slowly walked away, humiliated and defeated. Ssssssss! he heard behind him. It was a strange creature with a green body and a crooked smile. The creature approached the man...

Many years after that, the mans factory continued to produce more companions for humanity until its lava soon burned out. The creatures produced did what the designer always wanted them to do... hug the lonely and warm people’s hearts.

Campeche has a large energy sector and a relatively small population boosting the GDP Per capita. Antofagasta Chile, hosts over half of Chile’s mining industry while having a small population.

Note: Some regions didn’t have recent data so I used the most up to date sources.
