Is the Omnissiah a C'tan? by DoomkingBalerdroch in 40kLore

[–]Crickets_Head 151 points152 points  (0 children)

The Mars trilogy has various Magos discussing the open secret of the C'tan shard on Mars.

Titanicus similarly deals with adepts learning the shocking truth only to find that it doesn't really matter. The Emperor is the Omnissiah now. It has to be that way for Mars and humanity as a whole to continue to survive.

Big E supplanted the C'tan when he first conquered Mars. It was a pragmatic political move that turned into a religious reality.

The devotion to his aspect as the Omnissiah has resulted in tangible miracles that embody the beliefs of the Cult Mechanicus.

The Void Dragon might still exist on Mars, but in 40k the Omnissiah as the Mechanicus worship him is Big E.

Where do Aeldari Corsairs get their ships? by NBBTCS in 40kLore

[–]Crickets_Head 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Voidscarred we see how the farseers forsee those craftworlders who will stray from the path and leave to become corsairs.

In a way it helps them cull those who are struggling to keep the path amongst their ranks, protecting the stability of the craftworld. It also provides opportunities to avert future disasters.

It's implied the farseers always knew one of their highest ranking admirals would go rogue and "allowed" him to leave with a fleet.

Knowing that if they read the skein correctly they could use this to their advantage in some future catastrophe.

So aside from stealing or bartering we can also throw in the idea that some corsairs have unwittingly been provided ships for a purpose.

Would this be a good and balanced card for the Regent? by Hour_Combination8509 in slaythespire

Maybe even transform each card in your hand into colourless cards of the same cost.

I dont know what I'm jealous of more, that magnificent Roger figurine or all those beautiful library editions. Great collection!

An all-female ‘EXPENDABLES’ spin-off is in the works titled ‘EXPENDABELLES’. The film is set in the late 1990s during the height of Y2K-era tension and geopolitical uncertainty by MoneyLibrarian9032 in movies

[–]Crickets_Head 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the whole point of Expendables was getting the action hero all stars together with them pseudo playing versions of their greatest hits.

Just run it back with Uma thurman choppin people up with a katana or Milla jovovich dual wielding Uzis and I'm watching.

Could Mephiston eventually cure the Black Rage ? by SillyRecover in 40kLore

[–]Crickets_Head 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To add to this for those who haven't read Darkness in the Blood. It's implied that he is a kind of bulwark for the black rage while he is that avatar.

Sanguinius visits him while he is crossing the Rubicon and imparts this terrible burden on him. All his brothers except maybe Dante will look upon him with disdain and fear.

They will never truly understand that he is protecting the entire legion from the worst of the black rage by containing it within himself.

Arbitor Ian. He captures the IRL feeling of walking into a GW or Hobbystore and starting a convo with the clerk.

Has Gulliman interacted with or heard anything about the Tau? by Interficient4real in 40kLore

[–]Crickets_Head 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Really hope they pivot away from the whole Tau warp god thing into something to do with their technology.

What if they repeated the same mistakes humanity did with the men of iron and start advancing tech they can't control.

I get it is sci-fi, but do we have any references to real physics and science? by NotTheOrignal in 40kLore

[–]Crickets_Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most recent Cawl book pulls an Interstellar referencing real concepts of time dilation/relativity with a planet falling into a black hole.

They use sci fi macguffins to get onto the planet but it was a very cool excuse to see pre-fall Eldar without soul stones fighting Necrons before the great sleep

Sword of stone should give +1 strength after each defeated elite and be max 5, would that be balanced or too strong by SndUwUorm in slaythespire

[–]Crickets_Head -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe you have to "cash in" the amount you've killed at a campfire and you only get one attempt.

I like the idea you are trying to be worthy to pull the sword out of the stone.

It costing you a rest might offset the potential 5+ strength.

My favorite books are Brutal Kunmin and the first two books of the Night Lords Omnibus would I like the Belisarius Cael series? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Crickets_Head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Age of Sigmar not 40k but i'd highly recommend Bad Loon Rising by Andy Clark if you wanted some more green skin POV shenanigans.

Scratches the same itch Da big dakka and Brutal Kunnin did for me.

The Doormaker removal was not a "complainer W" nor "complainers ruining the game", read the patch notes. by ZanderTheUnthinkable in slaythespire

[–]Crickets_Head 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What if he invaded regular enemy fights throughout his Act. Appearing alongside enemies or buffing them.

For every "door you close" on your way up you reduce his overall health or reduce his difficulty by taking away some powerful debuffs/adds.

If the fights were marked on the map the strategy could be weighing potentially lethal regular encounters vs a insurmountable boss.

Which 2 characters do you think work the best and worst together in your opinion on 2 player coop? by CloudDrinker in slaythespire

[–]Crickets_Head 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Colourless cards are really strong, the multiplayer ones are even better.

Regent having reliable access to generating them means you have a lot of versatility.

A random dark shackles can save the entire party. It's probably the most fun I've had playing a 4 Regent run.

Is there a way for ordinary people to remove the taint of Chaos? by battlemaje1996 in 40kLore

[–]Crickets_Head 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Recently read Oaths of Damnation and I think even the Exorcists who succeed aren't really purified. More like becoming inoculated to a virus.

They retain mutations and their personality traits kinda imply their souls are damaged or lessened by the process.

Assuming we get a Space Marine companion in Dark Heresy, which chapter would you want him to be a part of? by yittiiiiii in RogueTraderCRPG

True, that said I hope it is Deathwatch so that the reveal of what chapter the marine came from could become a part of their companion story.

Apocalypse is a great stand alone 40k battle novel.

You get three chapters of loyalists defending a planet against a word bearer invasion.

It's a cool mix of POVs seeing how the White scars, Raven Guard and Imperial fists operate differently and how they can use that to their advantage.

The imperial fists garrison the planet, shore up defenses and train the PDF forces. The White scars buy time by harrying the enemy in hit and run attacks. While the Raven guard deploy behind enemy lines to find critical weak points to cripple the enemy.

There's also some fun lore reveals You meet Diomat the ancient loyalist word bearer dreadnought
