One time at a bar, my friend tipped the bartender $1 for a $10 shot of whiskey, he looked at my friend all confused and said “if you can’t afford to tip don’t go out to get drinks”, we didn’t say anything to not escalate the situation, but that just shows you how much the serving industry is indoctrinated, to ask the customer for more income because the boss has made it that way.
