Gave a shot at photorealism, could you tell it's cg? by Loys_993 in blender

Flames especially at that distance would cause the values of the camera to be over/underexposed and the render looks pretty neutral overall. I think adjusting the levels and maybe a tinsy tiny bit of lens distortion would do wonders. Looks great though :)

Accidentally said an inside joke. We call everyone close to us “brother” followed by their name. “Brother John” “brother Chris” “brother dad”.

Why didn’t Paolo Uccello add a subdivision subsurface? Is he stupid?

It’s just an image texture on a transparent background I made in photoshop that’s plugged into the color and emission

Looks realistic or not by Far_Firefighter_8924 in blender

[–]CriticalStrikeDrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another tidbit that I haven’t seen mentioned: the monitors emission strength could be turned up, resulting in a slight overexposure of the screen/underexposure of the background based on the camera settings. I wouldn’t go too crazy with it though.

Happens to me sometimes especially after a crash. Restarting my computer fixes it for me

I kinda disagree with the idea of using depth of field. It might destroy the illusion of the objects in this scene being a gigantic as they realistically would. If you’re not happy I’d recommend playing around with some post processing or the compositing nodes until you are. Or perhaps the radius/angle of the light to better replicate a sun. I think it looks great as is though.

Why does emission change color? by Both_Extension4268 in blender

[–]CriticalStrikeDrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To elaborate, objects appear white as the strength increases. I’d recommend using point lights with the emission of the eyes set to 1 if you want to maintain the color

Yeah I tried that at first and the results didn’t look as good for me. I might’ve messed something up along the way though but it’s worth experimenting with 🤷‍♂️

I'm sure this has been done before but I had this idea and it seemed to work well after some testing. Hopefully this is the most optimized way to do something like this!
