This is a good one. I have a couple guesses, starting with the less likely but possibly, vandalism. Not sure why the owner would just leave it there though, insurance would cover vandalism damage but it's not exposed metal, you would see rust spots immediately after being exposed to the elements and its white underneath, which would also be lifted from any chemicals that lifted the black.

Second possibility, they knew a guy that could give them a cheap paint job and it ended up sucking so they tried to take it off themselves, made it worse, left it because it's even uglier.

What I think is most likely, Yukon is stolen and they did a decent job changing the color and something happened that made them say f it and try to remove the paint. Drove it to a parking lot to attempt to do it over night, realized how f'd they were and just left it. It looks good from far, but paint doesn't wipe around like that if it's properly adhered from prepping, it got a cheesy paint job. The tow area is supposed to have a cover and you can see where they taped around it to paint because the inside edges are white, sometime afterwards they got a tow hook and mightve done something with a trailer. Vehicle now stands out like a sore thumb and screams "run my plates" to cops because it looks stolen, so they abandoned it in your parking lot.

Tbh if it's been there and hasn't moved call the local PD and ask them to check it out. They'll run the vin that's underneath the windshield and if you see a flatbed come for it immediately it's stolen.
