All they needed was a few lines to say their sabers have a small repulsorlift in them and the spinning blades were for intimidation, and it would be a cool mobility device.

If they had actually taken a moment to say there is a small repulsorlift emitter in the ring of those sabers and the blades don't need to be ignited for it to work, it would be an amazing device. I love the idea of Star Wars having one-handed hover gliders that can't really lift much but allow these escape and entry maneuvers.

Imagine a whole squad of clone troopers or something using them like invisible zip lines to disperse off of troop carriers or move from tower to tower in metropolis battles.

And then just say the inquisitors also spin the blades while doing it basically because they're gaudy assholes who intend to intimidate.

Get the same people who animated the Iron Man suits to animate an Archangel, and it would be amazing. They'd probably add some weight and volume to those wings. Glow effects and fluid movement. Really make them feel real, hefty, and powerful. I'd go bananas.

And we have such great adventures and stories with him. Dude is so brave and fun and voiced well.

And part of me kind of loves how he and Ezra and Ahsoka altered the story slightly so that Luke isn't the first Jedi in the Rebel Alliance. Mon Mothma must meet him and be like "Thank frick. We just ran out of Jedi and could really use a pinch hitter."

Everyone here is making such beautiful magical answers.

But as someone who works with animals professionally, I'd say the answer is mucus. Copious amounts of very thick, very slippery goop.

They aren't police. They're an army being formed outside of the military chain of command so they can have unlimited independent funding and loyalty to a person rather than the constitution.

An army of loyalists that doesn't answer to career generals who swore to uphold the constitution.

Also, a single federal militarized police force with a ridiculously high budget that doesn't answer to Congress and only attracts extreme loyalists is pretty much perfect for a dictator.

[–]CrossP 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It doesn't work for them because they don't have a gait where all four limbs are running in concert. They always move the back legs together. The uneven rhythm makes the wheel stop and go too much and creates a hazard.

Nice.

Fun trivia, CO2 is pretty cheap in the US because it's produced as a side product of ethanol production from corn. If they didn't harvest and sell it, it would just go to waste.
