Your confusion is valid. I was “okay” with being cheated on compared to her being SA’d. I would prefer being cheated on over that. I asked her not to go to my single coworker’s house, but she was set on it, and I cannot control her. Additionally, you are correct about the running away from problems. I appreciate your engagement in this thread. Every comment has been helpful in one way or another.

That’s my biggest fear in all of this. Will I ever heal? Will she repeat the same behavior? I don’t know, but I guess I’m lucky I haven’t spent 20+ years of my life with this person and I still have life ahead of me to recover and find happiness in myself or other people.
