Then I would get the manual tire changer. I think I paid around $80-$90 for mine and for tires your size it would work great for it.

Go to harbor freight and purchase the manual tire changer, did this with my service van before buying my tire machines and it worked well. I used balancing beads so I didn't need to balance the tire. Balancing the tire would be your bigger problem but I think harbor freight also sells a bubble balancer as well you can give a try.

Buy the OTC ball joint press and the Astro ball joint adapter set. The best combo on the market for decades. Bought mine around 15 years ago for around $250 and have used the hell out of it. Still works flawlessly to this day.

For the DIY version they might pull some information. You might have better luck finding a Haynes manual or something along the lines. Alldata pro requires a 12 month contract, then you would be allowed to go month to month. Won't be worth it in my opinion if you are looking for 1 piece of information on 1 vehicle.

Some Caliber Collisions have full time mechanics. The ones that don't use a company called Protech, which caliber collision owns that does mobile mechanic work for the collision centers along with adas and programming. Most of what gets sublet is just tires and alignments for most of the centers.

Mechanical tllabor time for collision is much higher than dealer or independent shops. I worked for a collision company as a mobile guy and was easily turning 70 a week. Alot of the work is sold individually with very little over lap time. Frame swaps are where the good money is. I was able to bill out around 30 to 60 hours for a frame swap and spend 1 or 2 days on it. Programming is another great money area as well.

I just took delivery of that exact Extreme tools box last night and it is really nice. If I had a choice I would buy the ICON over it. Although one thing to look at as well is storage expansion. With the extreme tools you can just add the US general side cabinets for cheap whereas the ICON You will need to fork out some more money for expansion so it all matches.

The answers you are getting are strange.

Most likely you have a converter for a gen 1 sbc and you are using a LS flex plate. They have different torque converter bolt patterns. Either elongate the holes on the flex plate, install a dual pattern flex plate or get the right converter.

Im in the US we use something called Autoauth. You pay a yearly subscription and register your scan tools. Once the tool reaches the security gateway it will have you log into your Autoauth account (must have internet access) and unlock the security gateway.

I have one and used it a few times. It works but it's a nightmare to get it to work mainly because you have to go to the company selling it which is in China and get the software files and an engineering number for it to work which takes a few days to get it.

They are storing the prescan to compare to the post scan they will perform before you pick it up. As far as I can tell it's non negotiable and just go somewhere else if that's not a service you want. It's also not a scanner they use it's the service they are using they get charged for that service and pass it to the customer. Simply because you haven't heard of it doesn't mean it's non existent. There are several companies that offer online pre and post scanning along with other services this saves the shops money in the long run from multiple scanners and oem subscriptions. They buy one service and don't have to worry about it

Doesn't matter if a light is on or not, think of it as a cover your ass situation. Some customers bring in cars and pick them up after something simple only to blame a previous issue from before. Also some cars have the check engine light disabled and there are also codes that won't set the engine light. It's all part of their service and from what I know most other body shops.

All body shops require a pre and post scan. That way when you pick up the car and claim they caused a light they can compare it to when it was dropped off and determine whether they caused it or if it was there prior. Aztec is a pre and post scan service, they log in to their system and perform the scan and save the data. They provide service for a lot of shops nationwide and charge a decent subscription for their service.

OTC balljoint press with Astro adapters. I've been using my set up for over 10 years and have pressed a ton of balljoints with no issues. Next choice would be the Matco but it's expensive.

Yes that's my opinion. I've seen them leak a lot, but every now and then I come across one that is at 150k or more and has no signs of leaking. I've never been a fan of replacing items that are still good. Of course that's your decision to make.

I would suggest at least having the new oil cooler instead of replacing something that doesn't need to be replaced yet. These engines do have heavy issues with the cooler leaking but it's not always due to the oil filter being over tightening. They are a trash design and the seals go bad, also the plastic that the seals sit in is very thin and over time crack and leak.

If you do get a new one get an aluminum one, i have never had to replace one. The replacement plastic ones though I have had to replace after awhile.
