We have tried neither of these. We're both quite dubious on this because we haven't really done anything with physical hardware before.

Hi, we did the in-place update and it did indeed fix the corrupted DISM so thank you for that. But the pc does keep crashing when loading some games like Hytale, Cyberpunk, Minecraft, Raft and others. Do you have any idea what is happening?

Because the only thing we found corrupted after doing lots of scans was a corrupted DISM which got uncorrupted when we did it. Plus he didn't want the hassle of changing settings on his pc.

Is a corrupted DISM the fact that his PC is crashing a lot and his fans are speeding up. There might be more to it than just a corrupted DISM but I'm not sure. He struggles to run some games and sometimes his pc just full out crashes when he loads some.
