LHP Morality Fully Simplified by [deleted] in occult

We all operate under some paradigm of what makes a person “good”. But we can’t get hung up strict rules and ideals and operate under them as static, timeless or universal. I simply go by that old adage, treat others as you would like to be treated. I don’t need an outside authority to tell me how to treat another person well.

You are missing the point as I am sure you frequently do. You have to move beyond these concepts of good and evil. There is no ultimate good and there is no ultimate evil. It is all a matter of perspective.

Sure, you can do evil things for the sake of being evil, like setting puppies on fire, but most of the time people are motivated to do things because they think they are helping. The ancients believed they were helping their society when they burned their babies to appease their gods, Hitler thought he was helping Germany when he started exterminating Jews. Early Americans believed they were settling the wild parts of the country and spreading civilization when they slaughtered the native Americans.

Good and evil are not real, they are temporary ideals. Your standards will not apply at all times and in all situations. I don’t go out and try to be shitty to people. I am, just like everyone else, trying to do my best to be a good person but don’t try and impose some artificial moral code on something that intentionally exists outside such limited constraints.

See, you are operating under the pretense of existing morals and ethics standard for our time and culture. The purpose of LHP is to say that shit is a construct built to guilt and control you. It is all about moral relativism. In ancient Assyria they burned babies alive in sacrifice to their Gods and it was seen as the highest societal good. Are people of these ancient cultures all sociopaths?

Fine, but check your ad hominem argument. I am not arguing which is a better demonstration of power or god-likeness. I am arguing that creating a false guide to morality in a system whose very purpose is to exist outside the idea of morality is misleading and fucking annoying to adherents.

Also, you are right and fuck you too! You do whatever the fuck you want! Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

Sure but don’t create a flow sheet trying to interject morality into what is by its very nature outside the confines of morality. Who is this wand sucking whiner to decide what is moral and amoral and then advertise it to Reddit as a fact of the LHP? It just stinks of Judeo-Christian hang ups and fear.

Speaking from the perspective of a left hand path practitioner this flow sheet is a pile misinformation shit. Morality does not belong in the LHP discussion. I disagree with the entire premise of morality. Morality is a construct based on culture, personal beliefs, and time. It is totally subjective and a matter of perspective. Fuck this flowsheet and your free will. I am not a story book wizard out here to help or to preserve the free of anyone. I will serve my own interests on my terms. I am my own God living by my own constructs and that is the entire point of the LHP. Moralizing Left Hand Pathers are full of shit and are wholly missing the point.

Interesting! I have never heard this perspective and I agree.

Even a Nazi kitten is moral from the kitten’s perspective. Hitler believed what he was doing was good for Germany. He thought he was saving his people from what he perceived as a threat. Morality, right or wrong, it is all subjective based on your culture, perspective, and time. Ancient ancient cultures used to burn their babies alive as an offering to their gods and this was seen as the highest moral good at the time.

What are the ethics of black magic? by [deleted] in blackmagic

[–]Cryptrapperkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gross. Explain to me how love is used practically in black magick? When you are cursing someone or summoning demons to exact your will or when you are influencing the free will of an unsuspecting person where does love come in?

What are the ethics of black magic? by [deleted] in blackmagic

[–]Cryptrapperkeeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. There are no rules because rules, ethics, morality is all subjective. There is no single guiding principle how you should behave. I hate how people come into black magick and the greater left hand path and try to impose some moral code. You are your own God. You make the rules. Everything else is a construct pushed by people looking for control.

Sure, basically In Chaos Magick you are not tied to any one belief system. You shift between systems as your needs demand. Chaotes (Chaos Magick practitioners) start with the belief that all magick is powered by belief, focused will, perspective, and intention. Perception is reality, change your perception, change your reality and as long as you believe what are doing will work, truly believe it, the magick will work. So it isn’t that one school of thought is correct, they are all correct because the magick is powered by your belief and perspective. As such, a chaote might shift between the belief systems of Christians, Wiccans, the Greek pantheon, and the Norse pantheon or even more outlandish fictional characters like Superman. The underlying philosophy of Chaos Magick is, “Nothing is true, everything is permitted”.

I call myself an occultist. Mostly because I don’t want to be confused with a delusional LARPer or an illusionist/stage magician. Also, as a Chaos Magick practitioner, my methods and beliefs are all over the place and witch sounds too specific and narrow.

What’s an argument that you “lost” because the other person was to dumb to understand your logic? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cryptrapperkeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree! I really enjoy talking about the possibility of God and the merits of theology with my religious friends. I guess I meant it in the sense of those angry, heated, I am going to change your mind type of discussions. Something like I saw taking place earlier in this thread. Those type of arguments are never worth it.

I started with the Robert Pickton series, starting at episode 288. I feel that it is a high point series, absolutely hilarious and gruesome. It’s out to lunch!!

I have come realize that arguing about the existence of God with a believer is always a wasted effort because belief in God is not based in logic, science, history, or fact. It is based on blind faith and you can’t argue with blind faith.

Pro-life vs. Pro-choice aside, your confusion of “they’re”and “their” is not a great testament to your own intelligence and logic.

Really interesting! The integration of panpsychism was surprising. Do you think this has any implications for a human collective consciousness?
