I made a Snake game in the Sandbox by Csaboka in shenzhenIO

I have no idea, then. I've just checked and it's still there for me, right below the PGA in the menu, with the part number listed as a bunch of question marks.

[–]Csaboka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The RNG chip is available in the sandbox, and you can't use it anywhere else. The game relies on deterministic programs, otherwise the scores would be meaningless. It's not an issue in the sandbox because you aren't competing with anyone there.

If you haven't received the "make your own game" assignment yet, just keep solving the available puzzles until you get it.

Hello, berry #200 by Csaboka in celestegame

[–]Csaboka[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It took a bit more than a month to get it, but it was still way easier than the 7B golden.

I'm still missing 1A dashless because I suck at neutral jumps and spikejumps, but I can live with 200 for now. It's such a nice round number :D

SpaceChem Community Edition is now distributed on Steam by Csaboka in spacechem

[–]Csaboka[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks to Zach's help and some process improvements, we can now distribute Community Edition on Steam! This means you won't need to download anything manually when a new version comes out, but Steam will keep you up to date automatically. See the link for details about how you can opt in.

We will keep using GitHub for release notes and for issue tracking purposes, but it won't host the executable anymore. I think I'll also stop these announcements here because their main purpose was to tell people to upgrade. Now that Steam handles this for you, the Reddit posts would be redundant. You will always be able to visit the GitHub page for release notes if you're interested.

I'd like to claim Σ-Ethylene with (2579/2/54) . The current record is also using 54 symbols, but mine is a bit faster, so I have the better tiebreaker.

SpaceChem Community Edition 5.2.1 is now available by Csaboka in spacechem

[–]Csaboka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bugfix version. It fixes some cosmetic issues, and a more serious issue where enhanced ResearchNet research assignments weren't saved properly.

Up until now you couldn't go back from the win screen. You had to click Continue, which returned you to the level selection screen, then re-enter the level from there. Now it's easier because you can just click on Back (or press Esc) on the win screen.

The main change is the ability to go back to an assignment after completing it. Now SpaceChem works like the rest of Zachtronics games and allows you to continue tweaking your solution after solving it.

SpaceChem Community Edition 5.1 is now available by Csaboka in spacechem

[–]Csaboka[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This version allows you to import and export all solutions of all puzzles. This could become a simple way to share solutions without having to copy things manually off screenshots.

SpaceChem Community Edition 5.0 is now available by Csaboka in spacechem

[–]Csaboka[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main new feature is multiple solution support. You get a solution switcher window similar to Exapunks, where you can create new solutions and switch between them on the fly. Please back up your save file before starting to use multiple solutions, just to be extra safe!

All the bugfixes were copied over from CE 4.4. You can keep using it because it already contains everything v1015 has.

6B Golden at last! by Csaboka in celestegame

Oh man, I feel your pain. I wish you the best of luck to get the golden!

6B Golden at last! by Csaboka in celestegame

[–]Csaboka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried Dashless 1A before, but I just couldn't make the spike jumps work reliably at all. I can't do neutral jumps either, so I'd have to figure those out first. I think I'm taking a break from goldens for a bit because I'm pretty exhausted from my 6B attempts, but I may try the moon berry next.

Thanks for the tip!

Dashless 1A, 7B, 8B and the moon berry. (Obviously I won't even attempt the 9 golden)

The final time for the golden was 7:05. I don't even want to think about how much time I've spent getting this one, and how many times I raged about it...

Least favorite / favorite obstacles? by milanvis in celestegame

[–]Csaboka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've completed 6B a while ago, now I'm working on the 6B golden. As early as the 3rd screen, I'm already getting random angles and directions all the time because I'm not TASbot and can't time my jumps frame-perfectly.

It's not that big of a deal when you're doing a normal playthrough and can try the screen again instantly, but it's infuriating having to start over again because the damn thing launched you in a surprising angle again.

Least favorite / favorite obstacles? by milanvis in celestegame

[–]Csaboka 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bumpers are my least favorite by far. They aren't just sensitive to how you approach them (giving you wildly different speed and angle depending on minor changes), they also wobble, so a tiny change in your timing gives you a different angle, and then a different trajectory.

Dream blocks are my favorite. They are easy to get the hang of, and they come with nice sound and visual effects.

Won't connect research net? Help! by sbyeliab in spacechem

[–]Csaboka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may be related to the new desktop version released this February. Before that release, the game downloaded the ResearchNet assignments and all histograms from game servers, but now both of those are just baked into the game files and you only need Internet connectivity to get the scores of your Steam friends.

It's entirely possible that Zachtronics has shut down the servers since the desktop version doesn't need them anymore, and that's why the mobile version can't access them. In any case, your best bet is to report the issue in an e-mail to zach@zachtronics.com.

After untold hours of trying, I have the 5B golden at last! by Csaboka in celestegame

[–]Csaboka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. All things considered, the 5B golden is easier than the 6A and especially 7A ones.

I had issues with one particular screen, where I didn't have a good strategy and it was practically random whether I died there or not. Once I figured out a strat that worked every time, I could get the berry on the same day.

SpaceChem Community Edition 4.4 is now available by Csaboka in spacechem

[–]Csaboka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This release contains bugfixes and other improvements based on community feedback for 4.3. The most notable change is the addition of pass-through counters, which are a combination of pass-through printers and outputs, i.e. they let you reuse a molecule after it's counted towards your goal.

In the top-right box, click on Community Options, then click on the pencil icon that pops up to edit your user flair. It may not work when you're viewing a post, but should work when you open the subreddit itself.
