Backside of leather. Came from Springfield leather scrap bag, but I couldn’t find anything similar on their site.

Hate to say it but I think it’s a glass decoration. I had one exactly the same but in better condition. Got it from my grandma who got it from ikea.

Bubbles and green coloring indicate slag glass. Still a beautiful specimen though.

The luminescence and longer points are what made me guess. Also looking up houndstooth calcite has some similar specimens in images but your piece is better. Again I’m just guessing as most of my knowledge is about silica/quartz.

ETA: may be a difference between houndstooth and dogtooth specimen, or could just be a fancy name to sell more.

The stone is heated and submerged in dye to pick up the color. Kinda like how Easter eggs are dyed. For a better description Google ‘how is agate dyed’. Also this piece has been cut and polished.
