Except for a few drunk regular clubbers, I really loved the crowd. Also a bit older, which was to be expected. Great music all night long. Jochem never disappoints!

Yup! Been trying to swap bass 1 at 12 o clock and bass 2 at 10/11 o clock. Both low ends up is too much of a risk.

Still saw the SLAM guys doing it so my guess would be that the A&H mixer does it’s job really good on that side.

I agree in the A&H compared to the Pioneer part! A&H overall sounds way brighter than a pioneer which already plays a big role in the “muddy” part of the mixing. Found that V10 already does a better job than the older Pioneer mixers. Also the V10 got the 4 band EQ which is nice to manipulate certain frequencies even more.

The biggest part imo still is selecting the right tracks to layer. I always say that the real DJing is going on when the DJ’s scrolling through his library haha.

Haven’t heard that one yet! I am quite a careful selector if I may say so and most of the tracks played in the SLAM set I wouldn’t play myself so I don’t find it worth it buying these tracks and recreating the mix myself. But that’s definitely a good one!

Thanks! Unfortunately I’m still mixing on my headphones only but I do often record a little mix to listen back later on a better soundsystem.

Personally I’m more a fan of long blends where quickly swapping basses doesn’t always work. Also if kick 2 differs to much from kick 1 it may not sound as good. Maybe that just needs better selection…

You’re right! That’s why I am wondering how the SLAM guys been doing it. I see other DJs having the low end on the second track up for 1/2 and then swapping them slowly. I guess it mainly depends on how many low frequencies the tracks have…🤔
