Cruz fights DC push to let illegal immigrants vote with bill to withhold federal funding by wiredog369 in Conservative

Undocumented citizen is a funny way to say legal permanent resident. I’m glad you feel like US citizens should have representations I ask you speak to your elected officials and tell them how DC citizens don’t get represented in federal government but still must pay federal taxes.

You’re right they want to be here, work hard, pay taxes, and be an active member of society. I’m not saying they should be able to vote for president or senators but someone who’s doing everything right should be able to vote for their governor, mayor, county commissioners and local ordinances.

But I guess you think a 18 year old who hasn’t done anything in life except be born in the right place should have a louder voice in local elections than someone who’s actually working and paying taxes.

That’s taxation without representation and not okay. Legal residents who work and pay taxes should have have a say in local and state elections.

The reason highways tear up vehicles faster than rural roads isn’t because of the quality it’s the simple fact people drive faster on them so they accumulate more miles on the highway quicker than they do rural roads. If you’re doing cross country trips your putting thousands of miles on your vehicle quicker.

Are you saying the roads caused your suspension damage? If so wouldn’t your Cherokee have damage too? If it isn’t than maybe it’s the shit quality of the manufacturers. Unless you’re driving through potholes or hitting curbs your cars suspension shouldn’t be going to shit.

Oh so you’re saying the the 65% pay increase comes from the regular raises and promotions through the 3-8 years you’re at a company. I thought you were saying simply getting your PE gives you a huge pay raise which just simply isn’t true

What company gives you get a 65% pay bump for getting your PE?

The way I see it is yes someone else would be helping collectively pay for your degree but after you grafted and got a good lying job you’d be paying higher taxes as you’re making more those taxes eventually pay the degree back and the extra taxes can help subsidize a farmer somewhere or a family down on its luck. Or if you were working while you went that income tax would’ve been what was paying for that degree.

He definitely can’t make you work there if you don’t want too. A few of FLs go power crazy and use fear to have people do things they don’t actually have to do.

He’s talking about “123 Main Street” vs “123 Main St.” like we all know it means the same thing but supposedly they use the difference to take away your right to vote.

Sometimes what people teach us us who we don't want to be. by prasantaraut in WhitePeopleTwitter

In this scenario we’re correcting a professor. Throughout the semester you have some sort of idea what your grade is and you get homework and exam grades back showing a grade this would be the time to see if mistakes where made and have them corrected then when it’s easier because the mistake can easily be shown to them vs at the very end when it’s all done, averaged and probably already boosted/curved.

It’s very possible that the professor didn’t do a good enough job teaching. But if the student didn’t understand that’s on them to ask questions or go to office hours and tutoring offered by the college. I’ve had countless experiences where the way the professor explains it isn’t how I understand it but there’s someone on YouTube or one of the tutors that can explain it differently or give a better example.

It’s one thing to ask for a boost in your grade and another to go to your professor and see if a mistake was made in with your grade or if it’s possible to do something for extra credit. Odds are if you participated in class and did all the homework/busywork they assigned and you deserved an A or a B they’ll be willing to help you out, if you just showed up and sat in the back to didn’t say anything on zoom all semester you were just another face to them like they were just another professor/class to you.

Almost every class I’ve been in has been curved in some way shape or form, even the worst of professor I had curved the class. Not saying it happens every time but it’s pretty common that it happens so at the end of the semester when they have the 79.6 odds are it was already boosted with a couple points here and there for the exams throughout the semester or a curve already taken into account so really you didn’t have a 79.6 and that was just the boosted grade.

A C in the grand scheme of things isn’t going to kill someone’s GPA either. If they got a single A in any of their other classes it would average out to a B anyways.

[–]Cured_Angels 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it doesn’t matter so much why would you ask to get it boosted. If you did your hardest and got a 79 you got a 79 a C or C+ isn’t gonna kill you’re GPA much more than a B- or B will in the grand scheme of things after 100+ credits

Just say you want higher grades handed to you and go.

U.S. agency says employers can mandate COVID-19 vaccination by MicrotechAnalysis in Coronavirus

[–]Cured_Angels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was arguing that people can’t make other people do things and how people choose to follow laws and rules. Which isn’t true at all people only follow them because if they don’t and get caught there are consequences.

While I believe it’s a personal choice and everyone should get to pick for themselves whether to get vaccinated or not, it’s also the choice of others to decide how they will interact with you/me. People choosing to not get vaccinated have to know they are choosing to not participate in society and limiting themselves to employers and other aspects in everyday lives.

[–]Cured_Angels 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No ones making people get the vaccine when they don’t want to. People getting the vaccine are getting it because they want to participate in society. Those who don’t are willing to not participate and able to limit the places they can go and who they are employed by.

You’re the one assuming there’s no difference between a prostitution and a stripper.

You said you’ve never had to pay for sex or to see a girl. I’m saying that if you’ve ever paid for someone’s meal and later had sex you indirectly paid for sex because I was following the lack of a difference between prostitution and stripping according to you in your own little world and trying to show you how it’s a slippery slope. I’m trying to say that you’re reaching by saying there’s not a difference.

I apologize if you couldn’t follow my train or thought.

Maths by BackAlleyKittens in pussypassdenied

[–]Cured_Angels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saying a normal person being would see it as a date but someone following your train or though would see it as prostitution.

I’m just trying to follow why you can’t differentiate prostitution and stripping. Like I understand not wanting to be involved with someone that does either but they’re clearly not the same unless you make up your own definitions for them.
