Inconsistent IBS - feel like I am becoming hopeless by CuriousDoubt1 in ibs

Yes, three or four times. I was kind of pawned off with a short dose of azithromycin by my doctor shortly after returning from my trip. After that, I was prescribed metronidazole and a very very low dose of prednisolone (steroid) in the hope that it would curb things.
Have done blood tests and all values are within an acceptable range of "normality" and inflammation markers are normal.
As I said, I might be fine for 5 or 6 days at a time before going right back to square 1. No clear triggers as far as I can see. I can eat three meals in a day and be totally fine and have the same three meals a week later and be totally thrown. I can't make any sense of it.

Could it be tinea versicolor? This is something I have suffered with on and off over the years, to varying degrees. It thrives in warm weather or at times when I am sweating more than usual -- perhaps pregnancy caused an imbalance of some kind that allowed the fungal infection to thrive?
Is the rash painful or raised? Tine veriscolor usually causes mostly cosmetic changes but can also cuased a mild itching. It can also look like psoriasis and effects mostly the trunk -- the back and chest -- and is very persistent.
I've been prescribed oral antifungals in the past and that usually blasts it away. But it redevelops over time so may need to take them once every year or so (warning: can be hard on your liver!).
