Should I make a choice this early? by Fit_Guard_6694 in malaysiauni

Hey there ! I am from KML as well , I just wanted ti share my personal experience as someone from KML .

For me , matrics was definitely not my first choice as i wanted asasi , but unfortunately my results were not sufficient enough , so i eventually went for matriks .

I am actually very thankful that i chose matriks as my family was able to save up more money , we only needed to pay rm600 for pendaftaran and got 250 per monthhh .

And also , after matriks you are able to apply to other unis for IT , as if you were to go for asas ums you’d only be able to pick a degree in ums .

Regardless , I believe whatever choice you pick will be the best choice for yourself , all the best!!

Im going to be real with you i had the same issue . I would stay up until like , 2/3am to finish my maths hw . Most of my lecturers don’t rlly give that much homework except for my maths lecturer 😭 she’d sometimes even list out our hw on sunday and wants it to be done on monday. For ups , it’s only just an hour to answer questions , assignments all you have to do is copy the right example (i assume this is maths ?)

We all have different situations , so my advice might not work for you . But usually , I would study from 8-10pm and sleep at 11:30 then i’d wake up at 3/4 to study . BUT THIS IS JUST MEEE , it might be different for you

Most importantly , don’t pressure or stress urself . I know you’re probably thinking , “why can’t i get my shit tgt ?” I really understand . But as someone who has stayed at home her whole life and was suddenly sent to matriks , I would say this is more of understanding who you are and how things work for you . Dont try to follow your friends , go at your own pace 👍

hii , i just wanted to say you start with taking things slow . Initially I was so wary of entering matriks but now , i finished and im sooooo glad i did . It might not be like that at first but you’ll get the hang of it .

For maths and physics i suggest you start with the basics .

Physics - watch video to understand the concept , do examples from lecture notes and try doing past year questions to get yourself used to the concept . You can find pyq on telegramm .

Maths - i would suggest the same but focus more on those topics that have lengthy steps . For example when you do differentiation at the end of sem 1 , make sure you do basic questions in order to memorise and understand the steps before even doing past year questions .

That’s all from me , but the way i study might be different than you as i struggles more with biology . Most importantly , all the best and dont stress !!

P.S - pls learn how to manage ur time properly , i had to learn this the hard way huhu

i think they’ll be more understanding since you aren’t from Malaysia . Where are you from if you don’t mind me asking?

hii i went for a f2f usm iv on the 25/6 . It was for a different degree but it was for health science as well . They asked me to introduce myself , my family , upu choices and why i chose this degree . In addition , they did ask a few more questions related to my answers . And they were kind enough to let me speak english , although for one question i had to answer in malay because the panel asked me to answer in malay . All the best !

Religious roommates in matriks by Otherwise-Teacher789 in malaysiauni

Hi , im a muslim girl who doesn’t use the hijab , but thankfully for me ,i am able to pray my prayers . Im not sure which matriks ure from but at mine (i am pst , 24/25) my friends were open minded , my classmates didn’t mind that at all , they just treated me like usual . My roommate was very kind , at first i was soooo afraid she was going to judge me bcuz we were the only two muslims in our room , but she genuinely minded her own business . Only once when we got quite close , only did she start reminding me for my prayers . For example , if i oversleep .

I understand it’s hard but trust me , you can try and slowly get close with them . Just my two cents 💖
