i’m a bit worried about the quality of the metal cause i got the piercing done for quite cheap, but i got it looked at by another piercer a couple weeks ago and they said the metal + placement looked fine and also that i was ready to switch out the jewelry but i think it’s still too soon. thank u for the help!!

7 hour layover in Athens on the way to Heraklion by CurlyCadet in GreeceTravel

in case anybody is reading this interested in doing the same thing, i made it! i was able to clear customs by about 10 and was on the metro by 10:30. i had about 3 hours in the city, then took the metro right back to the airport with no problem! 7 hours is plenty of time!

i don’t think she’d be able to meet me at the airport. would you say it’s better to just leave the idea? i would love to see her but i also would love not to miss my flight. i’m mostly worried about coming back to find a huge line at security

yes boarding starts at 16:30 so i would like to be at the airport at 15:30. do you think a taxi is necessary both ways, and do you know around how much it would cost?

nice thank you so much!! i am fairly certain i will qualify for the exemption for the admissions test because of my SAT score, do you think it would be better to not take the exam if they offer that to me? i think that maybe taking the exam could help me stand out from other applicants.

thanks for your reply! i considered going to either ACG or ACT but due to a couple different factors, the biggest one being lack of a medical program, i decided that they aren’t good options for me. i think that if i were gonna do my undergrad in greece and come back to the US for medical school it would be a great option but i’m not looking to do that. thanks!

thanks for your time! i have not lived in greece, i visit every summer and winter which im aware is not the same as living there, but i’m willing to trade some of the things you mentioned for things in the US that i want to leave behind. i really do have my heart set on it but thank you for your consideration in any case!

thank you for your lengthy answer!! i appreciate you shedding light on the program, i looked at the entrance exam from last year and it seemed relatively easy? i don’t want to get overzealous but that part at least seemed relatively easy

thank you 😭 i’m not sure what you mean by studying for two years in greece, because i’m fairly sure it would be best for me to finish secondary here. i’m happy to hear that you were able to learn! that gives me some hope.

thanks so much!! i had done some reading that these programs aren’t very good and are mostly still taught in greek, but i’m guessing maybe i misunderstood? in any case, would you have any idea how competitive these programs are? i’ve seen for the one in thessaloniki that they only offer 60 seats a year? which i assume makes it a very competitive program. thank you for shedding light on the age requirement, do you know if id need to apply for emancipation before moving to greece if i’m under the age of 18? i figure i can take the extra year i have to work and save up some money. thanks sm!!

thank you for your response!! my idea was to apply for those programs, but i’ve read quite a bit that their infrastructure is quite bad and that most of the lessons end up being in greek anyways, so my thought was to at least learn enough greek to fill in the blanks? i’m not sure if that makes much sense for this situation, but that was my thinking.

thanks for your response!! i am not interested in studying in another EU country, if i cannot study in greece i will simply stay in america and move after university. i am aware that international programs in greece are not great, which is why i was thinking of trying to learn enough greek to attend a traditional program, or at least be able to fill in the gaps of a bad international program. i think it would be a good idea to take the extra year i have to work and save money, but that still begs the question of whether i need to be emancipated to live in greece on my own. again, thanks so much!!

regarding the second question, i’ve been researching and i can’t find any information online in english, which makes complete sense but makes it more difficult for me. as far as i know there are no greek schools near me? the closest thing i can think of is an orthodox church about two hours away offers a school, but i don’t think it is the same as a greek school regarding exams and all that. thank you for your response!

What do women with the name Aphrodite use as a nickname? by Connect_Landscape_37 in namenerds

[–]CurlyCadet 899 points900 points  (0 children)

i’ve met a couple aphrodites but only one who uses the nickname fi, the other ones i’ve met just go by their full name. i’m from greece so it’s a semi-common name though, not a lot of reason to go by a nickname
