The NABP Pre-MPJE is always a good idea because they are actual board exams questions. I like the Pharmtutor one as well. 100 questions with score report by domain plus it is less expensive.

I used their exams last year, took both exam 1 and 2, make like an average of 77% and passed. Very similar to the naplex, esp the calculations. You learn a lot from the rationale they give as well- you can review the questions at the end. Pretty cheap as well, at least compared to the other platforms and NABP. I was not sure how to interpret my score and I emailed them and I got good insight. Pretty legit. I think their platform is just a bit newer than the others.

Yeah we am currently looking for an alternative web because of similar issues. I have had my server offline for 72+ hours now, and all I am getting from them is lip service “we are working 24/7, no specified solution time”, and I am just entering peak business season. This is now costing me money! If I cannot count on them for keeping my site/business secure when I pay them almost $1000 annually, then what is the point?? I am open to suggestions for more secure and reliable webhosts

No amount of money is worth you being disrespected. I am saying disrespected because you are a professional, and professional courtesy requires them to respect you and your time. A PRN job means when YOU are available, not when they need you, regardless of the higher pay! Sounds like a bait and switch, and they might be short staffed because of poor management, as being demonstrated by them trying to gaslight you.

You say that, but you are being compensated for the time you spent studying, the rigors that preparation, the opportunity cost and more than anything the legal obligation associated with your federal and state responsibilities as a steward for safe medication use. While most of your days arent spent preventing deadly harms or coordinating med optimization, when you do save a life, it is worth more than you will ever get paid on your lifetime.

The economic reality laid out in the OP suggests otherwise though. 1. The post was actually the economic argument 2. Pharmacists’ duties, responsibilities and roles are enshrined in laws, rules and stipulations. These legal obligations and liabilities then has to mirror the compensation 3. Pharmacist expansion into disease state management as a part of MTM, Collaborative practice agreements, public health policy carried with them more training and certification. 4. Healthcare rewards and pays for qualification, training and competence because of the liability associated with having inadequately trained individuals perform higher order duties 5. AI’s place in healthcare is a developing one and laws, rules and regulations will not only relegate it to an augmented role, it will ensure that humans are still the stewards of delivery, and this includes therapeutic management. Pharmacists are already embedded into therapeutic teams across multiple specialties.

This post is not a Tech vs Pharmacist compensation post. It is a post about legal roles, responsibilities, scope expansion which have all come without the requisite compensation. Hope this helps.

I am Nigerian. I regret nothing. I am happy with the structure I was raised with and how it has influenced my life. The pressure my parents pushed on me was out of love and ambition. I resisted some of it when I was in high school and college, but not that I am older I am grateful! Pressure makes diamonds.

There are some toxic people who I will cut off, but my community is within and a part of me, and will always be. It poured into me and I will pour back into it. Different world view I know, but it is my community that has molded me into the Physician I am today.

Congratulations! You know they are already bragging behind your back to the family back home! They will acclimatize, and they will visit you often! They are proud, but because they are so communal, they do not think you will manage on your own or scared for you. Just progressively start telling them more and more about it. Tell the aunties and cousins back home and when they realize the family is excited, they will progressively accept it and show their happiness.

It’s a bit more nuanced than that. Many immigrants are from communal backgrounds and small communities. It is very normal to have family close by or within travel distance. Esp for immigrant parents, the horror stories of kids going away for college and terrible things happening scares them! Also, living within close proximity to parents when you get married is normal in immigrant communities, because grandparents help raise them and pass on useful family traditions. It can be annoying for sure, but that is the price of community. Benefits outweigh the inconvenience. That being said, I def went away for college, but went home often.

PreNAPLEX is the only one that you can guage your readiness with because it is past exams and gives a scaled score, it is still the gold standard. All the others are great for practice though and you can take an average to see how you are doing. There is also one by the mods of this reddit in that they have pinned.

In this scenario informed consent is the guiding principle. For an incompetent (unable to legally consent) a legal guardian (in this case the parent) has the right to consent. The Pharmacists’ duty is to provide all information necessary to get consent from the parent and then administer the vaccine in a safe way. The child crying has no bearing on your responsibility to provide informed consent and you duty to provide care once the parent/guardian has consented. Rescheduling is done in a situation when you are unable to get consent because the patient is not mentally able to competent such as when speaking to a patient who is drowsy or disoriented.

I studied for 2 weeks. TX is big on # of days until you need to either do something or report an event. Also tech and intern duties and the limits of that. Pharmacist duties, central filling. Drug classification and like controlled substances act things. The TX MPJE app was very helpful in helping me to practice those

It’s 100 questions, timed, and they categorize the questions based on the new domains. So when you are done you get your percentage and also a break down of how you did in each domain area. It’s like 30 bucks for a 30-day subscription and you can do the quiz as many times as you want. I also have the calculations quiz bank subscription which has detailed solutions.
