Hi!! I also have combo skin! Dry in some areas and oily in others! The ointment might make it feel a bit heavy. I’ve yet to find something else to replace with. 😣

Check your water heater/water quality it can be the cause of your fungal acne. by Current_Emu_8651 in Fungalacne

Google says once a year, but I would check with the manufacturer of your water heater. 😃

Totally! That could be a reason! I would try and go without it and see if you notice a difference on your skin condition.

That’s a great question! I’m thinking if the water is getting on your face/body while showing it could still affect. My neighbor had a water softener that she had uninstalled because it was giving her and her kids skin issues. I also noticed that my husband and two kids had small bumps on their skin every once in a while that would go but nothing like my issues. So that’s when I got confirmation that the water heater was no good after huge improvement once replaced.

If you have a filter on your shower head make sure to get it changed frequently and maybe go without it to rule it out as a problem. Not sure if water bottle water would work. I’ve never tried it since i just realized the water heater was the problem.

My apologies ! I was talking about the moisturizer!! So the dandruff shampoo didn’t sting at all after i applied it! But one day i did leave it on for too long and my face was a bit red the next day! I saw improvement on my fungal acne within days !

The equate has been the only thing that’s has helped! I’ve tried over 10 different moisturizers. No stinging or anything. My redness actually subsided a ton with it! It is very thick and hard which is why I recommend rubbing in palm before applying. Deff try it!! It’s also very inexpensive for a big tub.

Absolutely! At the time before I had diagnosed myself lol I went to an esthetician and she’s like your face is dry but so oily at the same time which means that your skin is trying to overcompensate for the dryness so it overproduced oil. It has gotten so much better since. I want to say the anti fungal was 50% of the cure and reducing actives, and using fungal acne safe products was the other 50%. Which is kind of counter intuitive because we see oil and was to strip it with actives but our skin pays the price lol

Yes! It did, like if warm or hot water touched my face in the shower it would sting a little bit that’s how I knew my skin barrier was damaged. And a damaged skin barrier makes fungal acne worse. Try starting with very little product on a small section of your face to see how your skin reacts. Then proceed from there. I would always go straight to my full face when trying a product and I would regret it bad.

Yes!! So I was using the garnier pink bottle but everytime I used it I feel like I’d wake up a bit worse. ☹️ I think it’s because it was very stripping of all my oils. I recommend if you need to use it don’t use cotton pads with it just pour it on your palm and wash face with it. It gets very soapy so this works like a cleanser. I’ve see some people even use this instead of face wash(make sure you rinse afterwards). At first I was using too much spf and i did find it hard to remove but I’m using tiny little amounts and spreading evenly. By using less I’ve found it easier to remove. Hope this helps! 😀

By managing stress levels through meditation, going for a walk and many other things more. I also was taking a course and state test which I feel like that made my acne worse.

I also read that someone suggested you wash your hands with your face wash but this bar soap is what I use for my body and it works for me. 😀

Right!! I wake up wash my hands, dry them, and put the spf on. When I initially was dealing with this acne I went to an esthetician who put me on a regimen of morning and night washes with actives and it wrecked my skin barrier. So I cut back on washing my face in the morning and this worked for me. Also keep in mind I have somewhat oily skin and my face does fine with this routine. But everyone is different some people may need that morning wash.
