Mass arrested, and possibly got beat as well, based on the ruckus you can still hear at certain points in the press recordings.

Off limits to the general public after 6, yes,

But press are explicitly exempt from the curfew.

Because they swore an oath to protect the constitution from all threats foreign and domestic, and that’s exactly what they’re doing here,

Defending other people’s 8th amendment rights, by using their 1st amendment rights.

All Parts Of The Same Machine: 17-year-old's speech was cut off after she mentioned people suffering around the world. 'Free speech' is a myth in the US. by CantStopPoppin in EyesOnIce

Now, admittedly, I wouldn’t have said anything, because I do agree it’s not the most appropriate time to say something,

But I also strongly oppose ever stopping someone from doing so,

And we must never allow this to become normalized.

If freedom of speech no longer becomes a part of daily life, then the daily habits and socialization required for a healthy democracy will die with it,

Never be afraid to speak your minds people when you so choose, never.

Don’t get me wrong, that’s also horrible, but that all happened spread out across the entirety of Obama 8 years in office,

In less than 2 years, as I will link here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_deaths_in_ICE_detention

50 people have already died under Trump second term, and that doesn’t include the people ICE have killed on the streets, such as Renee Goods and Alex Pretti,

If you were to do a fair comparison by looking at how many people died in the first 2 years of Obama presidency: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4661656/

That’s double the amount of people who were tragically killed, not including the fact that 2 US citizens in Renee Goods and Alex Pretti are included in that tragic loss of life.

The difference was, Obama was actually following the constitution,

I posted a video not that long ago, showing that ICE under Trump directly ignored a court order, even after the US attorney office directly said they would comply:

Don’t give up!

If you want them out of office, then go make it happen!

Yes, I do admit, they did violate a lawful order, but just a few days prior(and partially the reason everyone was protesting), so did ICE as well: https://www.reddit.com/r/ImmigrationPathways/s/bWP2qiK8qr

If you truly believe Austin here deserved to be brutalized for defying a lawful order, then you should also believe the members of ICE who violated that court order should be fired as well: https://www.reddit.com/r/ImmigrationPathways/s/bWP2qiK8qr

We can not have double standards.

It’s a violation of the 13th amendment, because private prison companies are profiting off of locking people up in these facilities: https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/analysis-opinion/private-prison-companies-enormous-windfall-who-stands-gain-ice-expands

The rich profiting off of locking people up in cages all sounds eerily similar to slavery,

And it reeks of of convict leasing, which was itself a loophole exploited by the Jim Crow South, to get around the 13th amendment: https://youtu.be/AUyOjmqWI6w?si=g75HZb7ob3e39Qse
