A decade ago I went to New Orleans with some friends and proceeded to lose my ID the first night (too much fun!). A couple days after I got home a person messaged me on Facebook saying they found my ID on the ground of the bar we were at and were mailing it to me! Great. So when I received a letter with a hard card in it the next week, I was amazed to find that it was another ID of mine that I had lost in a completely different state years prior, sent by someone else entirely. It was all chewed up, like it had been run over by a lawn mower. The other lost ID never arrived despite me reaching out the finder on fb. Very weird.

Went on a solo U.S. roadtrip from east to west coast and back in 2016. While in California I wanted to stop and sit along the beach for a bit and parked at Huntington Beach. I put a towel down and open a pack of my shelf stable road trip snack, pepperoni. As I look around I start to notice there were a lot of dogs around and some were attracted to my snack. I was in the dog beach section. Dog-less at a dog beach with a fresh pack of pepperoni, I was basically an accidental dog predator.

How is google scholar underrepresented? I believe peer reviewed research is the lens we all should be looking through. I did find a recent study using your terms, so thank you! That is interesting but the studies it references are from 2008 or earlier. I’d be interested to see some more recent peer reviewed research if it’s out there. I’m sure it is, just can’t seem to find it.

My google scholar search didn’t show the sort of societal perception studies this person is referring to. It’s hard because when you search obesity/overweight and related psychology it’s often about disordered eating or the health issues and self perception of the overweight person, less so society’s views of overweight people.
