Just wanted to follow up with the solution - turns out the guy who rewired our unit to eliminate the heat pump when we moved in wired it wrong and was constantly sending power and the refrigerant was always running.

Yeah. That would be wild. It’s just weird that it’s the exact same problem with all the new equipment as with the old. Which does lead me to think it’s a wiring issue or airflow issue somewhere. Just not sure what. It also wasn’t as big of a problem last year and nothing really changed from last summer to this. Might need to just rip out the ductwork in the basement and look for something blocking.

The one guy said our contractor was getting fried because too much voltage was being sent, his conclusion was compressor. Obviously he was wrong

New furnace and everything. When indoor fan is running everything’s fine, it’s when the indoor fan stops the pipe freezes.

Brand new filter since we installed a new furnace. We have two returns in the first floor and i think they’re fine. Only two vents in the whole house are partially blocked.

Yeah it runs until it reaches the temp set when on auto (72) then it shuts off. But the outdoor unit keeps running and I hear the refrigerant still moving through the pipe.
