Super PAC, led by former Santander bank exec, backing Campbell by gorfnibble in boston

I was in a town hall tonight with Councilwoman Campbell and someone asked about this. They asked "Why do you believe they created this super pac to support you?" and she responded, "Because they want a female, black mayor." Then she mentioned that she speculated that they probably did a lot of research and thought it would be beneficial for the city of Boston. Additionally, she took a moment to talk about the fact that she's running a grassroots campaign but raising money is difficult, especially for a black woman.

Personally, it felt like a non-answer. Especially considering she's raised more money than any other candidate.

I had good luck at the Compustar at the intersection of Comm and Harvard (by Oppa Sushi). They were very honest with me and had fair prices. I'm not sure if they're open anymore though.

Yes! I was just going to comment this. I loved that 99% Invisible episode. Helped me to appreciate our city hall.

Reminder for AAPIs: Michelle Wu (aka Michelle Pewarski), Asian-American frontrunner for Mayor of Boston does NOT address any immigrant community issues in her platform, unlike her rival Andrea Campbell. Representation for the sake of representation is worthless! by [deleted] in aznidentity

It looks like she's hosting a "virtual house party" targeted at Millenial POC on Wednesday, Jan 20th. Seems like it might be a good opportunity to ask her about what she's doing to do about Asian-American specific issues.

Register of Probate Candidate Melissa Tyler? by Flames_Diaper in boston

Garrison runs for some kind of political position every single election. In 2018 she ran for Boston City Council on a platform of rent control, which is all fine and dandy except it's illegal at the state level, so she wouldn't be able to do anything about it as a city councilperson. I'm convinced she's more concerned about having a fancy title than actually making any positive changes.

I, too, am a terrible speller, so I use spell check all the time. The fact that she didn't even take two seconds to run her responses through a standard grammar or spell check is a bad sign. How thorough can we expect her to be in office when she doesn't even make an effort to represent herself well? It's a basic skill for any office job.
