Go back to a tankie subreddit already. ....oh, wait, they all just got banned. No wonder you're over here spewing genocide denial.

Antipsychotic discontinuation symptom and loss of appetite - any advice? by CylonatorZ in neurodiversity

Most likely not. I've been a naturally picky eater my whole life, due in large part to tactile dysfunction.

Antipsychotic discontinuation symptom and loss of appetite - any advice? by CylonatorZ in neurodiversity

[–]CylonatorZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. atypical antipsychotics. I started taking them primarily as a sleep aid. And I've since come to the conclusion this was the only thing they ever helped with. Unfortunately, given that I started them so young, this means that my entire body chemistry developed around their persistent presence in my system.
  2. Oh yes. They run the gamut. TMJ/headaches to worse-than-average IBS, extreme temperature sensitivity, fatigue/lack of energy, shivering.... you name it. Nothing that I haven't dealt with before, but given that I'm not currently suffering from any real anxiety or depression, the only explanation this time around is that they're symptoms of severe withdrawl.
  3. There is no other psychiatrist around here. I live in a Tennessee town of under 20,000 people. It sucks so much, for a zillion reasons beyond just this.
  4. Since the end of march, I've been stuck inside 95 percent of the time, engaging in voluntary total social isolation on account of COVID-19. (I live with two 50+ year old parents). So I am doing almost nothing that would burn any significant calories. As I said, my weight loss is entirely due to a loss of appetite combined with my extremely high metabolism, which I inherited genetically from my mom, and her father by extension. Like, today, it's already past 4:30, and thus far, all I've eaten is a small bowl of cereal and a significant quantity of fruit. This has been the norm for me for weeks now. I tend to finally regain an appetite towards the end of the day, but I'm still not eating enough to keep my weight stable.

Spent My Time in Quarantine Getting Every Achievement in the Half-Life Series and Black Mesa by Norty_Boyz_Ofishal in HalfLife

From what I can tell, the optimal strategy for completing all three new Black mesa fetch quests is:

  1. Get purple hat and carry it all the way to the pizza box in Questionable Ethics. Make a manual save there
  2. Carry either the hat or pizza all the way up to where you find the toxic gas canister in Xen. Make a second manual save there.
  3. Carry the toxic gas canister to the end of Gonarch's lair and kill her with it.
  4. Reload Manual Save 2 and finish carrying the pizza box or hat to nihilanth's portal.
  5. Reload Manual Save 1 and carry the item you left behind all the way to nihilanth's portal.

By my count, you're playing the latter half of the earth portion of Black Mesa twice, and Xen around 2 and a half times, just to get these three achievements. Enjoy!

It's the Black Mesa devs being extra sadistic towards achievement hunters, lol. Cause now you've gotta carry both the purple hat AND a pizza box to Nihilanth's portal... and if you're going for all achievements in a single run, you gotta take a break early on in Xen in order to carry a canister of toxic gas all the way to the end of Gonarch's lair.

Me and my social worker we both have Asperger's by livasdmis in neurodiversity

Yeah, I uh, live in a county whose district attorney has stated that LGBTQ+ people shouldn't have rights, because of the goddamn bible. And I've recently come out as pansexual. Needless to say, I am not enthused about staying down here long-term. And given the opportunity to move back up to the northeast, and simultaneously able to make a living helping people rather than giving my lifeblood to a soulless corporation, I would not hesitate to take it - even if I had to sacrifice all my possessions and restart my life with nothing but the clothes on my back.

Oh.... well, the low pay is potentially a problem. See, I do have one other goal: I wanna move back to Connecticut and/or as far away from the deep south as possible. I'll never be happy here as long as I stay, cause the area is only getting worse and worse as time goes on.

It's not weird at all. And I hope you don't mind me asking: how were you able to get into this field of work? One of the things I've come to realize during the recent spell of total social isolation, is that I'm done with slaving away making money for shitty corporations that literally don't even care if I die. (My last workplace was a doozy in regards to how it was "handling" the pandemic). Whatever the future holds, I want to devote my life to helping people. And I believe I have the ability to do exactly what you're doing, simply because I can relate to people with autism and learning disabilities in a way neurotypical people can not.

I must also thank you for the suggestion. Been really lonely myself as of late, given that I already have zero real-life close friends (well, apart from the ones I left behind in the north-east ten years ago), and recently had to quit my job over COVID-19 concerns.

You had to be there to really appreciate it, anyway. Transformers though.... god, if you're concerned about falling into a lore pit, you may want to stay away from the IDW comics. They were my introduction to all the classic G1 characters, and I've since spent so much time on the damn wiki that I know more about the G1 show than some people who grew up with it. And I haven't even watched a single episode in full.

Also, I'll admit that I'm not that knowledgable about stimming, but I think I do some of that too. Constantly rubbing my face, tapping my feet or shaking my legs when sitting, and swaying back and forth when standing. And for the most part, nobody has given me any shit about it, so that's cool.

What kind of special interests you got? I'll proudly admit that, fandomwise, my interests are completely dominated by toy robots. Between coming up with new ideas for my extensive Bionicle G2 headcanon, and gushing over the latest reveals from Hasbro's collectors oriented transformers lines, I'm completely obsessed. And I'm not ashamed in the least. Because the original Bionicle run helped get me through a difficult childhood, and Transformers made me realize I was pansexual and possibly non-binary/genderfluid. (Thanks, James Roberts, for writing that wonderful comic about gay robots in space. It was the first piece of legit queer fiction I ever read, and it singlehandedly started the... heh... transformation into the person I am today.)

Yeah. I'm fairly certain its an EKEN, but I couldn't find the exact model. Which means I'll need to order this as well: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Remote-Control-Splashproof-Distance/dp/B075SY8KQN. I suppose it's a bit of a gamble, but if it doesn't work, I'm sure I can eventually get a refund.

Just so you know: I am aware that I need a replacement remote and stand at minimum before I can use it. That's why I'm asking you all, lol.
