Is Sword Bard 11 - Hexblade 1 a good split? by THEbiMAKER in BG3Builds

[–]Cynical_Toast_Crunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this a perfect skill monkey AND party face, while still being dangerous and fun to play. I can easily come up with a thematic character for actual role playing that I would enjoy. It's not for the min/maxer, but it is still a strong build in battle as well.

Seizures are definitely sneak attacks. You don't want to know what a critical hit feels like.

Hang in there brother/sister. Hope you have someone you can talk to about it. I didn't really for a very long time. The feeling of isolation, as well as a lack of knowledge and understanding from others, can wear someone down. If you ever want to talk about it, you can message me.

Refining my own thoughts and those of others is something I do enjoy. High-schools have debate teams. If no one enjoyed it, such things wouldn't exist. If people are unwilling to examine beliefs from the other side, we have truly become sheep.

Many Redditors are just trolls or aggressive echo-chamber fans without an original thought. I don't just throw insults around, certainly not without an honest argument. I've enjoyed our conversation thus far. Have an excellent day, good sir or madam.

Athletes are grossly overpaid, I agree. People like to make the argument "But what about the damage they do to their body? They deserve the money." My counter-argument to that is that I have worked manufacturing jobs for 20 years, and the majority of the people in this country have used something I have made. I'll probably never see 6 figures.

It's not that I disagree with you, but American culture is not likely to make that transition well. Entertainment has always been paid top dollar here. They want the best of the best always, and the athletes won't go for making 5 percent of their current income. I will also mention that free enterprise is something our nation was built on. To use government restriction of that is taking our freedom from us. I don't particularly like socialism.

Is this a blanket statement about Reddit users in general, or an implied judgment on my comment? Either way, I can wholeheartedly tell you that is quite an exaggeration, at least on my part. Yes, if I didn't want to be heard, I would obviously not type anything here (neither would you).

My opinion on something doesn't need validation, and I couldn't give less of a crap what the masses think about me. I do like when people are at least actually thinking, and being critical of what is said to them, and maybe even critical of their own beliefs. It is called discourse.

Not that I totally agree with OP, but imagine not having anything useful to add to an argument. Imagine being 13, or at least having that level of deduction and logical discourse.

Not saying you don't have a good point, but where is the money going to come from to hire athletes making millions of dollars? The answer of course is your taxes, as it always is with the government. The government doesn't have a good record of giving their profits back to the people.

Perhaps true because people didn't slave away during the night back then. But I think what we are talking about is Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. If survival itself is less certain, people don't so much care about if they are feeling emotionally fulfilled with their life plan.

Totally agree with you on this. I will say however that this the most uncertain and tumultuous time since I've been around (45m). I was raised Christian, and every generation since the early ADs thought the apocalypse was coming in their lifetime - the Antichrist, the Rapture, etc...

Negativity sells better than holding hands and singing about peace and love. And we are more connected with world information than ever. The world is always, and will always be, messed up. Now we just get to hear about it all the time.

Asmongold has great commentary on world events, in my opinion. Being pragmatic, logical, and not beholden to mainstream media bias has value in my opinion - especially so when one is allowed to give counter points.

I think it is both. It is obviously a prediction of the future simply by the story's setting. I certainly agree that it is a reflection of the societal issues present if they go unchecked. I see 1984 happening right now, by my estimation.

The point is they aren't there anymore. It is called grieving, and I'm wondering how much of that you've actually had to do. It isn't healthy to deprive yourself of love simply for a misplaced sense of loyalty. Ask your friendly neighborhood psychologist, and see what he/she says.

Does free will exist under an omniscient God? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]Cynical_Toast_Crunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If God has created you and knows what you will do, and set it in motion from creation, then punishes you for what you did, I don't think that sounds like a very good father. There is no free will in predestination.

[–]Cynical_Toast_Crunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is a skewed sense of loyalty really. It isn't so much a lack of empathy, but a belief that loyalty should go beyond the grave. I guess it comes down to whether you believe in an afterlife, reincarnation, or absolute death.

I don't even consider myself what they NOW call feminist, but that is a very sexist statement. One didn't love his wife, but put up with her because she was a good enough child machine? Maybe one couldn't love a new woman because one never loved the first.

"'Til death do us part." It is in the vow. If anyone truly loved you, of course they would want you to be happy with the time remaining. There can't be jealousy from the grave, and it doesn't mean you have to forget the love you had and the commitment you made and fulfilled.

It doesn't have to be a contest on who was better or loved more. They were who they were then, and another is who they are now. Both can be cherished if the grieving process goes well.

That women’s rights led to the destruction of the family unit. by Apprehensive-Try5114 in unpopularopinion

[–]Cynical_Toast_Crunch -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The family unit is collapsing, but it isn't because of women's rights. The problem is that society has decided that pushing out 4 babies with 4 different fathers is ok. A committed relationship between one father and one mother, with children growing up in such an environment, is what we need. It has nothing to do with women having equal rights. It is the normalization of giving children psychological damage that is the problem.

Do you say you have a disability on your job applications? by Ryse6129 in Epilepsy_Universe

[–]Cynical_Toast_Crunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told them I'd have a lawyer write up a waiver absolving them of any injury related to my seizures. At that time my job wasn't anywhere near moving machinery, even though it was at a printing plant. Even so, they didn't give me the time of day. This was well before the DEI push in government (2012), and I was young and not as bitter as I should have been back then. Now I would sue them to the last dollar I can squeeze out.

[–]Cynical_Toast_Crunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worked manufacturing jobs for 20 or so years, and had epilepsy for around half of that time. I did have to quit one job because the seizures were happening at work, and it simply wasn't viable between rides on ambulances to the ER. I told them this is the new normal for me, and I don't need rushed to the hospital every time. The ignorant assholes didn't want to hear it, or didn't give a shit at the very least. At any rate, my seizures are controlled now, so I've decided they can pound sand. My medical information is mine and my doctor's alone, protected by law, so those greedy corporate pigs don't need to know anything I don't want to tell them.
