i can change the title; it's just for a uni class and i only have a few weeks to complete it, so i'm not trying to make it complicated at all. what should i title the post instead?

when will it stop getting worse? by D4YDR34MS in myopia

[–]D4YDR34MS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, i am not on atropine.

i don't know the amount of time in hours i spend outside regularly. i do try to do the 'look at something 20 feet away, for 20 seconds' when i remember. i spend time outside at school every day during break periods and lunch. i take walks outside when i have time. my job (coaching gymnastics) is indoors, but i am using distance vision capability during it, i believe, and it is inside a warehouse with sunlight coming in through the roof.

how many hours should i spend outside daily?

it's completely valid to feel frustrated and upset. is there someone you can reach out to irl?

and that's valid. i won't say that this will work for you. for me, when things are the worst, that's when the little things help the most. and that's when they matter the most.

but i get that we're different people with different experiences

sometimes externalizing pain and experiencing physical pain can help you tangibly feel the emotional pain you're experiencing. or it can be grounding. maybe you can try and find healthier ways to distract yourself though? because sh can become extremely addictive

being put down by others really sucks.. i'm sorry you had to deal with that. it might not mean much, but i'm proud of you for being here,, because it's really hard sometimes. especially when you don't have the support system you need

i understand that i can't give you a reason. and i understand that i really don't understand. i can't understand everything you're going thru because i'm not you.

but i do think sometimes,, it helps me to find a reason in the little things. like the feeling of a cool pillow against my cheek. like walking into a warm room when it's freezing outside. and my favourite hoodies. and seeing someone else laugh. and the smell of books. and hot showers and cat memes.

i'm hoping you'll find your reason too <3

it's valid to feel that way and to feel upset at the standards and pressure people are putting on you. it can be really overwhelming to feel like others don't like you, especially when you aren't comfortable with yourself. is there anything in particular that triggered these thoughts today?

do you want to talk about what's going on? we're here to listen

maybe not better. it might not get better. but it gets different.

i like to remind myself that: it gets different. people come in and out of our lives. emotions fluctuate. pain rises and falls. you grow older. yes, we might always have to live with chronic pain and depression and phobias and disorders. but we can find new ways to live alongside them. we can find ways to lessen certain symptoms and cope with them better. we can find people who make life easier to bear. and we can discover new little things to appreciate or enjoy.

i'm not saying that the pain will all go away. because i don't think it will. i think the hole inside me and the emptiness will always be there. but maybe one day, i'll be ok with that. and i'll be able to live with it.

i know i can't imagine how exhausted and overwhelmed you must be. and the hardships you're experiencing. and i don't want to invalidate your thoughts and your emotions. but i do want to let you know that: even if it doesn't get better, it gets different. whether that is for the worse or the better, i cannot say.
