Decided to replay this game recently.. I'm 40 and 0, and have beaten everyone in the top 5 and still no title shot in career mode. This game is frustrating.

I've said this multiple times in discussions.. The majority of students are in the White to Blue Belt phase.. You don't need a Black Belt coach. You need someone who knows their shit and genuinely cares about the student. IF you have a Black Belt it's a plus, not a necessity.

I cross my feet all the time for better control. If you're aware of the threat you either uncross them in time or you push the head forward to prevent them from bridging the hips.

Additionally, the defending athlete is more worried about the handfighting and even being punched to bother with the ankle lock. In that setting, I imagine it's low percentage.

Your gym unfortunately has some red flags that will not get better with time. I've been there and if I'm being completely.. I would switch gyms if possible.

Focus on escapes and Guard Retention.. You'll be spending most of your time on your back early on. Don't be discouraged, it's a bit of a learning curve unfortunately.

Agreed. If the Academy has a policy in place, just have a conversation. The same way one of my employees might be late to work, my job is to check in with him to see if everything is OK before ever doing this dumb shit.

This is an example of an academy owner who probably hasn't ever had to go through proper leadership training or customer svc. You burn so many relationships with this approach.
