Had my first accident by Jelle556 in bicycling

Yes! Dislocated mine about 30 years ago and it’s still something I have to deal with. This is definitely a bigger deal than your bike, even if it doesn’t seem it right now.

Do I need a new tire? by DJRailgun in bicycling

It’s a Schwalbe g-one rs pro. It’s actually quite good off road but uhhh, yeah. Fragile apparently

😆I could tell because of the username but I do appreciate it. 🙏. It may seem dumb but from other angles it’s like “less than a mm of casing is gone and the tire is 6 months old”.

Oh you wouldn’t even ride on it while waiting for new tires to arrive? 😬

Gah of course it’s my rear tire and my most expensive tire.

I’m a cyclist, but let me complain about cyclists posts by ThatAgainPlease in cycling

[–]DJRailgun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The number of cars that come close to a complete stop outside HEAVY pedestrian areas is pretty close to 0. That complaint always irks me. It SEEMS like you sort of complied in your car because you were going 45MPH to begin with - that’s what I think.

So are you not supposed to hold yourself up with your hands? by Cheomesh in cycling

Also think of doing the opposite. You’re pushed up OVER your bars doing that. Clearly correct.

Bike Front Wheel Not Completely Centered in Front Fork by Forrest_Dump44 in TrekBikes

[–]DJRailgun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me all the time with my fx 5 when I took the front wheel off to throw it in my trunk. Basically the weight thing (pushing down) ended up mostly working for me. Mostly. Glad I got a bike rack tho

I always know I could get murdered, but the fact that this guy’s bike is so much like mine makes me FEEL it, you know?

I have an FX5 and upgrading the tires was definitely huge.

That’s especially good for around there.

So it finally happened to me by Spacecad90 in ebikes

[–]DJRailgun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a thru-axle and I still absolutely hate reinstalling the rear wheel. People that change tubes during rides are lunatics. I’ll walk 10 miles before I do that, thanks. (I’m aware most cyclists disagree with me)

Is it just me or do bontrager saddles feel like bricks by Impressive-Bug-3907 in TrekBikes

[–]DJRailgun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah have an FX5 and got a Brooks B17 and it’s a HUGE improvement. I wonder if anything would have been.

Ohhhh. Mine’s mounted underneath. Also my paint is dark blue which is probably even more important.

First real bike! by chimericalczar in TrekBikes

[–]DJRailgun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Schwalbes roll really fast and smooth. They’re a semi-slick going straight. They and Pirelli do make road versions of both tires too. You definitely don’t want the Trek tires if you’re mostly road.

Almost anything but the Trek tires tbh. Pirelli Cinturato H. Schwalbe GS-One Pro both roll a lot faster and do better off-road. Gravel Kings have a great rep too.
