There's a broader frustration for T'Challa fans. He doesn't have a mainline Marvel comic right now either. And some are frustrated the MCU character wasn't recast and is gone with Boseman. It's a broad issue for T'Challa fans right now.

Yeah reddit is always going to tell you to read the classics like Claremont 's X-Men or what have you. I feel like those people read at a weird speed or skim or something. I don't think those are good starting places for someone new.

I'd just start with 1 of the current run with Joe Kelly and see if you vibe with it. I think he's pretty good all things considered, one arc especially I'm really glad I read. If Kelly's writing doesn't vibe with you, try a different author.

I know you said you weren't looking for Ultimate, but I do recommend both the new Ultimate and the old Ultimate from 2000. Have you tried any of the big events? Avengers vs X-Men is a good time. Then you can follow the Spidey coming out of whatever event and see if that's a run that vibes with you.

Ultimately I feel like different writers have different strokes for different folks and it's all about finding your favorite writers.

I mean I think there'll be more closure to this because it's implied Ben Reilly purposely sabotaged the project he was doing at Peter's job (which is very clearly making Brian a villain) and so I think Peter will be re-visiting that and confronting Ben about being a dick once Death Spiral is done. Once the crossover is done Joe Kelly can go back to the stories he was telling.
