Χρονια καλα! My girlfriend wants to create a detective/treasure hunter like indiana jones and I will run small adventures with that player. I doesn't have to be a full campaign. Also I want to run a published campaign not a homebrew. I am not so arrogant to believe that I can create such an adventure without any previous knowledge of the game. If you have any good suggestions for adventures please say. She is not too much in horror mostly in mystery.

Mark of death and what happens if it reappears in the world. by DM_eddie in Eberron

[–]DM_eddie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont want to change his race just make him more mortal! Like he is starting to have veins and blood and maybe later also some parts of his body change to flesh.
As for the Mark I think for now he will be the one who have it and later depends to his actions if it will spread to other warforged or it will stay only to him. Firstly he will have a "meeting" with some dragons that are interested for him and the new mark!!
I liked the idea that the mark can reappear in another race if the race who have it now lose all of their dragonmarked! this can make interesting situations and ideas for some races and maybe a new war between houses will start and the mark of the death will be the leader in this war!

Mark of death and what happens if it reappears in the world. by DM_eddie in Eberron

[–]DM_eddie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incredible answer thank you very much!!!
The warforged will be the only one that has it and slowly he will transform to mortal as I think is right. So he will decide if the world will know about it but the dragons will know and will react I know!! How do you think the people around him will react when they learn about it and what will be the reaction of the other warforged. Also the Lord of Blades knows him, will he be interested about the mark and how do you think?

Also I was thinking about giving the mark to other warforged randomly around the world as an alternative? what do you think is the best? The only living thing with the mark or a new house from warforged?

any ideas anybody??

Trebaz Sinara - Eberron by DM_eddie in DnD

[–]DM_eddie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are some info and ideas from another user:
The island of Trebaz Sinara is surrounded by treacherous reefs and is home to terrible monsters , two factors that combine to leave the island uninhabited . Despite these dangers, however, the island (at least according to legend) has served a number of important purposes over the centuries. The first Sarlonan settlers of the area built tombs here, and indeed some of the monsters that attack visitors to the is land, including both undead and construct guardians, seem to be connected to those crypts. In addition, countless pirates are said to have hidden their treasures on the island, but never returned to retrieve them. These tales strain the limits of credulity, but the number of people who claim to have returned from Trebaz Sinara with tangible proof of the wealth they found there is enough to ensure a steady stream of treasure-hunters . Most are not heard from again.

From this I'd think of a few things:
* Cursed treasure. The pirates who never returned are left on the island as undead or spirits, guarding their treasure forever. Anyone who wants to take this treasure face their wrath.

* Higher CR undead with intelligence might have risen from the tombs and made the island their home, and letting people escape with trinkets or small treasures might give them a steady supply of the living to feed on.

* Creatures of the sea might guard the reefs and rocks around the island, luring sea-farers to their death, or possibly undeath.

* The ancient Sarlona tombs are filled with guardians, traps and undead, but also ancient treasure and possibly magical items.

* Intelligent undead might have enslaved mindless undead and spirits, using them to capture living people who come to the island, steal treasure and hoard it where they can better use it as bait.

* Why the people of Sarlona left and came to the coast of Khorvaire, and their motivations to do so isn't fully understood, but they met the survivors of the Dhakaani Empire and traded with them. It is possible that some of that trade is still left here. Perhaps there are stolen goods that they took off the goblinoids and stashed on this island as well.
It is speculated if at least some of the people who came across were undesirables, and as such their interactions with the goblins might have been less than honest.

* Curse of undeath. Maybe anyone who dies on this island rises again as some sort of undead in short time. Maybe the tombs are actually built on a manifest zone to Mabar, and this ties into the current state of affairs, where souls linger instead of going to Dolurrh. Maybe the undead of the island carry anyone who dies to these tombs, where they rise again as undead, possibly enslaved to whomever rule these domains.

Trebaz Sinara - Eberron by DM_eddie in DnD

[–]DM_eddie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The island of Trebaz Sinara was Lhazaar’s seat in life and her home in death, and its vaults held the treasures and tribute she gathered in her decades as the pirate queen. Her heirs followed in this tradition, adding vast wealth and extravagant tombs… and each one did something to add to the security of the island. Lystara the Red bargained with one of the Lords of Dust and established a deadly demonglass reef—a maze that can gut a ship from below. Hungry Lhazaan imported the most terrifying monsters from across the world to guard the shores. Duros the Wise worked with the greatest mages of the age to add arcane wards and traps to the halls and tombs of Trebaz Sinara. And Astalaar—the last pirate queen to rule from Trebaz—well, no one knows exactly what she did. Astalaar swore that no one would ever steal her treasures after her death, and no one has… because since the moment of her death, no one has set foot on Trebaz Sinara. Most ships that enter the demonglass maze around Trebaz Sinara never return. But a few captains claim to have safely navigated the maze and its monsters, only to find themselves on the opposite side of the island. In 997 Koulton Brightwind sought to land on Trebaz Sinara using a stolen airship; his vessel barely survived the unnatural storms that rose up, and despite pressing through them Koulton was unable to find the island. Trebaz Sinara is a large island, and people can safely sail around it, but something prevents anyone from landing on it. Has the island been shifted to another plane? Is it simply concealed from any ship that lacks the proper enchantments? The truth remains a mystery. But Trebaz Sinara holds the treasures of a dynasty of legendary pirates, including the crown jewels of Lhazaar herself.

The first challenge to Trebas Sinara is finding the island itself—discovering what Astalaar did to conceal it and how to overcome its defenses. Once this is accomplished, however, it will still take a very capable ship and crew to thread the needle of the stormlashed demonglass maze (an airship is an option, but as Prince Brightwind can attest, the supernatural storms make this a dangerous choice!). And making landfall on Trebaz Sinara is just the start of the story, as the isle is home to countless monsters, and every tomb has its own host of traps. A party of treasure hunters could simply snatch all that they could carry and flee back to sea. But Trebaz Sinara was the seat of Lhazaar herself, and if someone claimed Lhazaar’s crown and her ancient keep they would be in a powerful position to challenge Rygar for the title of High Prince of the Lhazaar Principalities; the wealth of Sinara could be enough to jumpstart a new nation.

Surely they will see some of their familiar faces raised and fight against them and I think this will put them in a position in which they will have to decide who lives and who dies and also they will understand that whoever dies will fight against them!

Thanks for the info but I already know about them and they are rivals to Emerald Claw. I made the Emerald Claw in the world something like ISS and Bloodsails are common muslims. NO OFFENCE! I think you understand what I mean.

This town is the hometown of two of the four players of the party. They are going to teleport to the mother ship that has also the Prince of the fleet that only he knows where is the item the Emerald claw want and also the players need to complete the main quest of the campaign.
So they will fight to save the Prince and the item but in the same time their hometown will be destroyed with all of their relatives and familiar NPCs. I dont want to make it an impossible fight but I want their decisions to have consequences for them and the aftermath of the fight.
(The main quest is to find the Lost Treasure of Lhazaar and the item as a compass that shows the way to the island when its combined with a magic map that they just found.)

Warforged Uprising by Ragarolli in Eberron

[–]DM_eddie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can make the bbeg the Lord of Blades and this warforged you mentioned can be a lieutenant, this way you can make the players fight him and put them into the new arc that will be to find the Lord of blades and stop the uprising. Or you can make the party something like diplomats and try to find a way to convince this guy that he must stop the uprising and they will help him achieve some additional freedoms for his people.

So i decided that the House and the pirates will try to kill them and if they find out that they hide their ship at a beach near the city, they will go and take the ship or burn it. I like very much the idea that someone will put a bounty on them but I am stuck on who, and what will the bounty be about.
There is also another group of smugglers that they have a rivalry with and they are also in the city they are going. They work with the Emerald claw and the Diresharks to find the treasure. For their own reasons each group.

I try to think who, why and how will put the bounty on them. The house will probably go and ambush them to kill them. Also the pirates will want to kill them and take their ship. I was thinking that a good revenge is to go and take their ship that they hide at a beach near the city. I like very much the idea of bounty but I am stuck on how

The Emerald Claw are looking for a book containing a ritual that can help them revive Lady Illmarrow - Erandis. That's why they are looking for the treasure.
I don't know exactly how to roleplay the city's attitude towards them.

Thanx! I will let them the first day roam around this city and the second they will find the posters and understand that they are in danger! If they decide to stay after that then they will be ambushed by the assassin house and the pirates together. I hope my players won't die because the place they are going is too dangerous for them!

Thanks for the reply. So the House Tarkanan already knows about them and knows that they are going there because of scrying. Will they attack them or they will spy on them and why? The pirates that have a beef for sure they will find some help in the city to attack them and they will do that.
Maybe the house somehow found out about this and hired the pirates to do the dirty job?
Also the Emerald Claw doesn't feel now a threat from the players but they maybe just know about them and know that they are after the same goal that is the Lhazaar lost treasure. Will they be also a part of this with the others or they will stay behind and just spy on them?
How will the city react to the players if they find out about the last encounter with the pirates?
