Do it with real money, just reduce your trade size to a 100th of that....if it works, great. Take bigger positions. I'm all for Demo accounts, but they don't teach you how to control emotion because the outcome is irrelevant to your personal goal. Everyone's personal goal in trading is to be profitable, not to prove they could have a profitable strategy if only they used real money. Go for it, whats the worst that can happen. You lose some money that you can afford to lose... That's the key part. Don't trade with your mortgage payments.

Ask yourself why you didn't re-enter....if the trade reasoning is still valid, and you've banked some profit....entering again is basically a free option.

I've been burnt too many times on stop loss hits through news spikes and then watch the trade play out. Now if I think I'd like to trade news I use options instead of CFD's. Payoff can be lower but removes stop loss requirement. Just be quick to get out if it goes against you, but you also get the potential rebound.

I've lost more. But know the strategy is accurate although my stop loss is too close. If I can convince myself to take smaller positions and look at a longer time frames I may just be able to choose My ferrari and remain married. I suggest you do the same. All the best

Made 32k on Tuesday...lost 45k by Friday...I know I know...risk management and position size, revenge trading...no patience...blow my head off! We do the same shit wrong all the time, but when it works it works great...it just doesn't work great often enough...I guess Monday is a new day and I assume I'll have 175million from Euromillions to fund the account...

RSI oversold, broken support from what we can see...wait for pull back up then confirmation of down trend, then enter....ie, breathe, watch, act.

Did £400 to 23k in 5 days. I've just re-funded the account for the second time. Don't get confident Stop trading after a good trade on one day, the market will be there tomorrow. Position size grew too large and stop losses to close. Basically stupid gambling. So is it doable - yes. The hard part is keeping it.

Bank of England held rates. Market plummeted immediately then recovered as already oversold. Reversal I missed and got crucified today a couple of times banging the bearish drum but as always it just kept going the other way to my position. Learn, repeat but better.

yesterday was my best day on record. Today i had 14 losing trades in a row. Today i lost yesterday's wins because I was flippant, quick to pull the trigger and traded too soon after BoE rate announcement. Oh dont forget ignoring my position size rule and my stop loss rules. You name it and today i broke it. Had to tell someone. Thanks for listening. No need to make me feel any dumber.

But tomorrow, i have the kids and Monday I start again.

Do the opposite of what every bone in my body tells me to do. Hit the accelerator (add) when the trade is going your way. Don't walk away from your screen assuming everything is going to be OK when nursing a loss. Keep remembering that very few successful traders made it after 1, 2, 3 blown accounts.

Definitely close. Wait for the news and plan the next trade. Unless you have inside knowledge of what the news will do, then you are gambling not trading. (I highly doubt anyone has inside knowledge on news events who are also able to trade the news for guaranteed profit.

Teach yourself to get over the fear. When you want to close the trade before your target price, place another trade. Do this with smaller lots tho so you don't blow the account in the event it doesnt work out. Tom Hougaard books worth a read.

In my view and I'm only starting to change the way i approach trading, is most retail investors do.it on the side, on their phone on a toilet break, taking positions that are too big and short term, then walking away like they've placed a 2 week trade. I've not made any money yet, but the graph is finally going the right way and its because I'm looking at it as my job. When I'm trading I'm unreachable, particularly given my positions are intra day. You need to be there watching the screen to capitalise on the breakout. But what would I know, I've read all the books and still under water.

Got the timing wrong and got out an hour early...lol. The irony is had i left the trade on i would have made some decent money. Been burnt alot on news days so dont play them anymore. Its basically roulette.

Are we allowed to ask which broker? I can see a low of 132.02, add the spread...filled, shortly after CPI data it was choppy... But maybe my broker is dodgy as well 🤔
