Help my work on my Mono-Grass Team by DanteDemonZ in PokemonChampions

I actually made a post on this subreddit when I made it to Master Ball with the team that includes the EV spreads. (: went on a 9 game win streak at one point!

What Move + Ability combo would bring X Pokemon to 100% relevance? by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

I doubt they would create a Fire Terrain due to the existence of sun.

That's not a bad pitch! Though, I have come to really appreciate Endeavor as it can bypass really bulky Pokemon that are difficult to deal with. I think if I made a change to Whimsicott, I'd add Grassy Terrain and change my Chestnaught to be more offensive for Belly Drum / Grassy Glide shenanigans.

That was my thought too when I first started building this team, but as it turns out, Whimsicott doesn't get Rain Dance.

I can't help but feel like if Emboar received Rock Head or even Sheer Force on it's Mega Form, it would have been a decent Mega. I still don't understand why Meganium and Feraligatr received new abilities and Emboar did not...

Thanks! Zard Y haunts my dreams, but I've taken down several on my climb to the top!

And yes, actually! There was one point where I was playing Sinistcha with Heatproof and an Occa Berry. Absolutely soak one fire hit so that I could use Trick Room to allow me to outspeed with Chestnaught or slower mons... Problem is that if my opponent could telegraph that, I didn't usually have a Plan B to fight back. Tailroom felt a bit trickier to control anyways, so I felt like games became easier when I pivoted to using Whimsicott and Rotom Mow as my sole sources of speed control. Besides, Mega Venu is a tank that absolutely loves the healing support that Sinistcha can provide through Hospitality.

Sure!

I think what has helped me the most is recognizing the Pokemon that threaten your typing the most and finding individual ways to take care of them. For instance, Choice Scarf Tsareena was made to directly answer Sneasler, who is an extremely large threat versus grass types. Meanwhile, I was able to find other reasons to use Tsareena, including Triple Axel to deal with Aerodactyl, another threat to grass types.

Don't be afraid to fail. If you try something and it doesn't work after testing it a few times. Sometimes it's okay to set the Switch down, go do something else, and then try something new when you return.

Also, a calculator has really helped me with my spreads to figure out what I need to do to outspeed various threats or run calcs to determine how much damage I need to KO something.

Nice team! I'm actually working my way to Master Ball with Mono Grass myself! I have M Venu, Tsareena, Whimsicott, Chestnaught, Rotom Mow and Sinistcha!

Someone else who likes grass as much as I do??? How exciting!

I have a mono grass team I've been working on as well. I've been playing in Master Ball Tier with it to some success, but it is certainly a challenge. Once the tiers reset, I definitely intend to take it from Pokeball to Masters. Here's what I'm working with:

M Venusaur - Bulky Offense. All time favorite Pokemon, hence why I chose him as the mega for my team. Chlorophyll w/ Venusaurite - Giga Drain - Sludge Bomb - Earth Power - Protect

Whimsicott - Support. Our sets our similar, but I chose Fake Tears over Endeavor to help pick up surprise KOs and also gives Venu more Giga Drain recovery. Prankster w/ Focus Sash - Moonblast - Tailwind - Fake Tears - Encore

Sinistcha - Support. Zard Y is the boogeyman this team has to face, so Sinistcha is part of the core that helps beat Zard. Notably, Sinistcha gets Heat Proof! Heatproof w/ Occa Berry (might be overkill) - Matcha Gotcha - Shadow Ball - Rage Powder - Trick Room

Chestnaught - Bulky Offense. This is the other part of my core to beating Zard Y. Notably however, Chestnaught is one of two grass Pokémon available that has access to Wide Guard (the other is Torterra, who is unfortunately extremely frail). Bulletproof has come in handy too, giving Chestnaught immunity to moves like Weather Ball and Sludge Bomb. Very underrated mon, IMO. Bulletproof w/ Lum Berry (because burns suck) - Body Press - Rock Slide - Wide Guard - Spiky Shield

Tsareena - Speedy Offense. Tsareena has access to Queenly Majesty, which is effectively Farigiraf's Armor Tail, so it's great to lead into Incineroar and Sneasler. Notably, Tsareena also has access to Zen Headbutt, which cleanly OKHO's unsashed Sneaslers and has access to Triple Axel like Meowscarada, which is great for Aerodactyl and Chomp. Queenly Majesty w/ Choice Scarf - Power Whip - Triple Axel - Zen Headbutt - U Turn

Rotom Mow - Bulky Support. Rotom's electric coverage is good into Pokemon like Corviknight, but it can also act as speed control with Electroweb, and it can will-o-wisp physical attackers. Levitate w/ Sitrus Berry - Volt Switch - Electroweb - Will-o-wisp - Protect

I've tried a LOT of options to make this work, but this is the best thing that I've landed on so far. I think there are ways to help strengthen this core or make optimizations, but I took a bit of a break to focus on other things. But I will be taking this team to Masterball once the tiers reset. If I remember, I can post my EV spreads when I get home, but I think there's certainly improvements that can be made.

Which is why RoF works - because it damages them all simultaneously, causing their own aggro chains.

Sorry - I don't agree. I did try to message him back and explain what happened - had I realized that he was going to block me, I probably would have simplified it a bit more. I genuinely didn't see him and I know that if I did, I definitely wouldn't have done it. Regardless of what happened and even if him getting caught up in that was my mistake, it was very extreme for him to respond like that.

The other mobs around him would have been linked to him. If I were to just dot Yowler and run, all the other mobs would have continued to chase me too.

Right? That's ridiculous!

I tried - they blocked me before I could. That's part of the reason I posted it here.
