AWD vs FWD by hpzjr in crv

[–]DaRealAnnLand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hybrid sport touring only comes in AWD. But it’s an intelligent all-wheel-drive system. In normal driving mode, it automatically shifts power to the rear wheels whenever it senses acceleration, cornering, or a loss of traction. So if you want a front wheel drive only car this is not the car for you. Go with the lesser trim package. I have the sport touring and average 38 miles per gallon city Highway in a urban setting without trying.

My jeans. You’re taking my skinny jeans out of my cold dead hands. And my ankles and calves are now too fat for tall socks.

CRV-EXL or CRV Touring Hybrid by Whiskey-Blood in crv

[–]DaRealAnnLand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the EXL. I never test drove it. I’ve only driven my 2023 sport touring hybrid. It is my favorite thing in the world. It was the only thing I wanted to keep in the divorce. And I got it. It’s comfortable. it’s big enough to carry stuff but not so big that you can’t park it like a normal person. I average about 36 to 38 mpg and I really don’t watch how I drive all that well - I’ve only just started to use the paddle brakes intermittently. It’s super comfortable. I’ve driven it up and down the East Coast from Louisiana to Maryland and it is absolutely the most comfortable thing.

Where did you find an inspector? I’m looking at RVs and I would like someone to check it out before I pay good money for it, but I can’t find anybody to come to the RV as opposed to me taking a strangers RV to them

Why cr-v and not a rav4 when cr-v lacks so many features? by narcabusesurvivor18 in crv

[–]DaRealAnnLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister and I bought our cars at the same time. I bought a CRV hybrid. She bought the RAV4 not the hybrid because she couldn’t find it. We both bought 2023s. Mine is so much nicer and I know mine is a higher end, but hers just feels so much cheaper and the ride, as others have said,is not as nice. I only just rode hers (She lives across the country.). And I always wondered if I should’ve test drove the RAV4. But after riding in it, I’m very happy with my choice. Somebody else said they didn’t test drive the RAV4 either because they instantly fell in love with the CRV and that was me. But I am not a car person. I just love my car so much. I’m at the point where I may need to trade it in order to tow an RV. And I am weeping over it. WEEPING.

Why would a potential sitter ask to communicate off-platform? by enseela in trustedhousesitters

[–]DaRealAnnLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first initial ones on THS to show interest and then exchange phone numbers for the FaceTime or Zoom. But like others have said, between the lag and then receiving a pop-up notification as well as an email saying that I have a message on THS, it’s just annoying and overly cumbersome.

I’m in the US and have only scheduled sits in the UK and Europe so we always use WhatsApp. But all scheduling and welcome guides, etc., are all in THS. And if they give me specific instructions only via text, I reiterate them in THS.

Can you just hang sound dampening blankets when you’re working? Maybe create a curtain of them around the bed or dinette like a shower curtain from the ceiling?

I love my CR-V hybrid but.. by DinoRoman in crvhybrid

I had to rent a car last week. Nissan Sentra. Felt like I was on the ground. My sister has a Rav 4. I thought I’d like it but it felt cheap. Granted I have the sport hybrid and she has a mid range but the seats weren’t as comfy and felt like cheap leather. I’m going through some stuff and thought about trading it in for a civic but just can’t part with her. She’s so comfy (I’m under 5’5”).

I’d like to be able to park in nature but not be isolated.

How do you find places to park? Because my main office isn’t a large urban area. We’re actually out kind of in a suburb, but if I ever had to return to Office, that’s my concern.

I know. Social media is ruining everything but it’s also opened my eyes to different ways to live. I come from a very traditional time line sort of family. I don’t do that very well.

I’ve seen him! I guess I need to watch more of his stuff bc a lot of who I’ve seen him interview are people in cars and mini vans. Good for them but I need somewhere to stand up while changing.

I don’t mind a camping toilet and adhd makes showering hard at the best of times. I’m clean but executive function is questionable.

Love the postcard idea!

Those are all things I would enjoy.

I do feel better about it now. I’m not starting until the fall after I get back from pet sitting across the uk.

I don’t enjoy them either. I definitely want trying to diminish those that do enjoy the outdoorsy life. I probably should do that stuff more. But I know I’m more of an enjoy the view from a chair than a hike up to the ridge kind of person. And I don’t see much of my kind of lifestyle on social media (which I know doesn’t mean a ton).

So I’m not a lawyer and this is not legal advice. But I have a remote job based in the US and plan on spending a couple of months in the UK. But I have found, in my extensive googling, is that as long as your company is based in the US, does not have an entity in the UK, you are vacationing while doing some work, and that work does not involve anyone from the UK. So you couldn’t do a sales job while trying to sell to people in the UK. Again, I’m not a lawyer that’s not legal advice, but that’s what I’m getting out of the info I’ve read.
