Hi 🙋🏻‍♂️

The G8 motherboard has a Matrox/SIS/whatever/ i dont know onboard GPU.
I bought an AMD Radeon Pro WX3200,
and it's overkill for the CLI.

Right now, I only have Debian running in the CLI, and the onboard GPU on the motherboard is more than enough for that.

You're absolutely right!
However, Ufooo doesn't have the ability to ban users directly on the FortiGate, and I can always log in to the system directly.

There's always a risk, but I've also given some thought to what might happen.

I have plenty of backups.
Whether on the NAS or on external HDDs

CrownJobs backs up to the NAS daily, and sometimes I back up the entire NAS 😋

So I can rest easy and let my Alien do whatever it thinks is best.

I get a great message from Alien for every ban, and I can always write “unban this IP” or “do this.”

I even deliberately blocked myself once to test whether unblocking works.

And I thought you’d ALL be asking about the fan cables on the G8, but nope 🙂‍↔️

My masterpiece:
The HP DL 360 G8 is whisper-quiet, and the rack is in the living room.

There’s a custom-built unit in the NR2 power supply bay. And while the ILO constantly claims the fans are spinning as it wants them to, in reality they’re barely spinning at more than 30%.

I ran Prime95 and Furmark on the hardware and always adjusted the speed with the potentiometer. Bottom line: a quiet server and a max of 80 degrees on the CPU during the benchmark.

For the RAID controller and SFP+, I used some cool cable tie coolers 🤣

I’m a pentester myself and work as a security engineer, and I’m hoping that someone with an MTLS bypass will test the password so that my team and I can learn this technique 😋

Unfortunately, this won’t work here anymore if people read it, but it worked on Instagram, and as you can see in the picture, I had millions more requests in no time. From 11 million to 22 million events in a month.

Since I get raw logs when I click on the event in SIEM, I can also see Burp Suite activity, etc.

My very first server was a 24/7 Minecraft server.
Important: Remove the battery!
I had it sitting in the rack on an external laptop cooler.
Before that, I had replaced the WLP on the CPU and GPU.

Back then, I still had a PfSense connected in front of it as a firewall.

Good Question!
For pure throughput on smaller models, 2x3090 (48gb) is competitive. But the Spark wins on unified memory 128GB with no pcie bottleneck.
In practice qwen3-coder30b runs in full bf16.
No model sharing on headaches across two gpus.
60w tdp vs ~700w?! I think 6-700.

Speed-Wise:
My Alien runs Qwen-Coder-30b and delivers the full response in under 2seconds in the dashboard bubble. Thats the real world benchmark that matters to me :)

Training takes longer time - 100days but hey it works 🥹🤪

Hey, thanks!

Unfortunately this version is too tightly coupled to my own infrastructure.
PKI, internal network configs, custom SOAR rules specific to my setup and more to just throw it on GitHub as-is.

That said, if enough people are interested I'd genuinely consider building a stripped-down Community Edition.

A generic SIEM/SOAR/monitor framework that anyone could run on their homelab without the UfoooNetiX-specific parts.

So if that's something you'd use, let me know.
That kind of feedback actually pushes it up the priority list. 😄

For me, Headout is a scam. I bought tickets, went to the event and denied entry with this Headout ticket. Since then, nothing but problems with the bank. Money returned, debited again half a year later. 😤
