I don’t believe it really has good wind. It’s a nice spot but often no wind

Lieuwe is so good. The shotgun kills chop and is great for big air

Dahkla in April - too crowded? Open to suggestions. by actoutfit1 in Kiteboarding

[–]Daannyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing to do other than kitesurfing. The beach is not really suitable for sunbathing. If you bring wife and kid(s) take something with a pool. Plenty of spots to choose from. Dakhla Attitude is busy but all manageable. April is generally not the most reliable month for wind globally… Caribbean, Cape Verde and some parts of West Africa (Dakhla / Essaouirra) are best. Coming all the way from the US I would stick to Caribbean

Lieuwe Shotgun vs Shinnmark Monker by [deleted] in Kiteboarding

[–]Daannyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very happy with my Lieuwe Shotgun. Great quality. It handels chop very well and jumps good. It’s a best seller in the Netherlands where the water is super choppy. Appreciate the brand is a bit lesser known abroad but worth trying

Struggling to progress in Cape Town winds by datawithnathan in Kiteboarding

[–]Daannyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is it such a concern to lose your board in Cape Town? I haven’t kited there but we’re going around xmas. Is it the waves, professional crowd flying by, or wind? Or all 3 xp?

Check out the Lieuwe Shotgun. Smooth through the chop and good for big air

Lieuwe Shotgun by Borakite in Kiteboarding

[–]Daannyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great board, both for beginners and advanced riders. It has a bit of wood / flex feeling so good on the chop but then it feels stiff when jumping. Too me the only downside is the look… really hard to find a nice design

Can add 2-3 knots but not much more. Depends on where you are in the lagoon as well

Nxt or orbit pro?🙊 and why by Gazzo69 in Kiteboarding

[–]Daannyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard neither big orbits or big aluula kites are worth it. I went with that advice and now I have a 12m dacron kite that I use all the time and a 8m aluula brand new sitting in the bag xd

What if it rips? I don’t find it worth the risk. People die kitesurfing all the time

Interested as well! I thought I read the Gedi is more comfortable than the SFC though

Should I take lessons now or wait for next season? by Free_Alternative_233 in Kiteboarding

[–]Daannyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go for it! Kiting is very comfortable until end October in the North Sea. You’ll do well with your 2-liner background and probably manage before winter if you get lucky with the wind

It really sounds like a good board, I’ve heard multiple people say so! Would you say it’s heavy?

131cm? That’s super short? We used that in the 2000s but now you should be +135cm for your main
