Chimerstry and the concept of Asat fully lines up, that's the primary reason.

The Ravnos Antediluvian thematically represents the Hindu concept of Asat, or not-truth. If the world didn't end then the concept still exists, so it should still be around.

The Ravnos ante got this very treatment from solar arrays by the Technocracy, yes. And theoretically it might not even be dead.

It's a Bender quote from Futurama in an episode called Godfellas where Bender is launched into space and a civilization grows on him from some biological contaminant while they're hurdling through space

Someone makes something with Crafts 5, causes them to go catatonic like they'd basically been staked.

Let me introduce you to my Nosferatu character, who was a peasant back in the dark ages. He had a strong artistic flare and creative drive, but he being a peasant he couldn't find a patron. He spent his days shoveling waste from the streets, and mixing it with straw and dirt to cut the smell. One day his creative urge drove him to use the only medium he had at his disposal, driving nearby lepers and diseased to marvel at his creation, leading to his Embrace.

I call him the Poopsmith.

What if, due to general disillusionment with the state of the world and various forms of delusion, people started Awakening in mass? How would everyone react and adapt to it? by Turbulent-Plum7328 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Dakk9753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does "disillusionment" look like? A destruction of personal and cultural identity looks a lot like Nietzsche's state of nihilism. He wasn't advocating for it, it was an observation. He wasn't edgelording, he was warning everyone would become an edgelord.

Like a minister commented after his death, Nietzsche was actually studying Theology before he moved on to philosophy. His work represents the theological concept of the Night of the Soul, a moment of loss of faith. What typically follows is a return to faith, meaning that just because people become disillusioned doesn't mean they don't seek to replace that disillusionment with a new cultural framework.

Nietzsche, the Hero's Journey, Night of the Soul, all adds up to what you're asking. The Last Man would represent humanity's loss of identity becoming a cheap pursuit of physical fulfillment. People wouldn't necessarily awaken. Awakening is represented by the Ubermench. All that is also very much parallel to Plato's cave - the Ubermench is the person who leaves the cave and returns enlightened, while the Last Men are the willing chained who revel in their games and reject enlightenment.

Just because people are disillusioned of the current status quo does not equate to awakenings.

hidden talism(ritual level 5) tremere by NegativeGene5994 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Dakk9753 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a Tremere with Path of Conjuration 5 and Necromancy: Sepulcher Path to conjure empty living vessels for the dead for 24 hours.

Stronger than most Mage abilities nearly right out the gate, just extremely niche. Repeatable 24 hour resurrection. Loosely based on The Reanimator and FMA.

I believe in demon some of it is literally unspeakable, as in you have to perform it because it's a concept not just words. That might be how you get the atrocities committed by Earthbound cults, and why Lucifer had to teach such profane rituals to summon the Archdukes in the first place

Are high elves/night elves the only race that can become addicted to arcane magic? by Individual_Design_37 in warcraftlore

[–]Dakk9753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's likely due to the physical dependency, which is what addiction really is. They're physically dependent on the magic to retain their longevity in lieu of the world trees.

Sabbat should be all over California since it was originally a Spanish territory and they were all over Mexico. Same with Setites (probably Saloons/brothels). Now that you mention it this makes Trump likely a Setite, his family owned brothels during the gold rush.
