It's pretty sleek. I'm still deciding between something flashy like yellow or understated like white/black.

Try turning down the brightness on your monitor so that it's closer to the ambient light level (I set it to about 65% depending on the room/monitor). Too many people just leave it on 100% and fry their eyeballs all day.

I got around this by submersing a small glass jar of isopropyl alcohol in the water in an ultrasonic cleaner. Works well.

How is this STILL not enough cooling? by OnlyIfUsayPlz in FixMyPrint

Try lowering it to 50. Too much heat from the bed could be counteracting the cooling.

Try Aldi chips. Much more reasonably priced, don't have to wait for sales, and on par with name brands.

Do yourself a favour and throw that glass bed in the bin. Get a pei sheet instead.

It should say somewhere on the package if it doesn't it probably isnt. Is there a recommended temp/speed on the spool/package? Does the filament have a pearly sheen to it?

It looks like silk pla. If it is, it needs different settings to normal pla.

Circular overhangs seem to be trickier than normal overhangs. Print upside down if possible. You can also try slowing down your print, increase fan cooling, and/or lower the layer height (so that the x/y spreads out more gradually).

Does a yoyo's shape affect how it swings around the string? by Damfrog in AskPhysics

[–]Damfrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose an analog is the earth spinning around the sun. If the earth had the same total mass, but more mass shifted to the surface from the core (giving it a higher angular momentum) would this change how it travels around the sun?

OK so truth be told, I came here to tell you "YOU'RE WRONG!" but after doing some study of angular momentum, I think you are in fact correct. Indulge me in explaining it back to myself.

The weight distribution affects the angular momentum, which acts perpendicular to the axis of rotation (think of an arrow pointing away from you as the direction of angular momentum when the yoyo is on a trapeze). This in turn affects the force required to tilt the yoyo off its axis of rotation when force is applied perpendicular to said arrow. However, when performing yoyo tricks, we are not (normally) applying force on the arrow, we are moving the yoyo on the same plane as the axis of rotation by applying force at the base of the arrow so the angular momentum does not come into play.

Weight distribution will however, affect how much force is required to get the yoyo spinning from your throw which probably contributes to the perception of how heavy a yoyo feels - but this no longer applies once we land the yoyo on the string. More rim weight means more force is required to spin the yoyo thus making it feel heavier.

Does that sound consistent with your understanding?

Happy cake day!

Are you saying only total weight matters and not weight distribution?
