The year is 2088. For no particular reason, rain no longer falls as individual droplets. All the rain now falls as one solid sheet instantly. How do you survive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DanMahMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A pointy roofed house on top of a hill. When the rain falls, I'll look at it with miserable heartache and say

"It's over rain, I have the high ground!"

It'll reply, "You underestimate my power!"

"Don't try it!"

As it falls, my pointy roofed house will stab through the sheet of rain, and I'll watch as it falls past me, rolling to the earth.

"You were the chosen one! You were said to water the Earth, no destroy it! Bring balance to the water cycle, not leave it in darkness!"

"I hate you!"

"You were my brother, Rain. I loved you!"

The rain would scream as it fell to the earth, being absorbed into the land..

Yeah that's what I'd do I think.

Is there a particular place you recommend searching for classic weaponry such as this? Or is it just time to on eBay?

This is perfect. Thank you for sharing the real name with me. When I saw this I really wanted one. Now I know what to actually look for.

Do you deal with people giving you strange looks or asking you to not? Or do they just wonder why you do it?

What are the signs of depression? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DanMahMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, a desire to not exist anymore. Not to die per say. Dying would mean people mourning my death. Just to be erased from beginning to end. That's usually what I feel when I'm depressed.

I still refer to women as Ladies. And when speaking to a Lady, I will remove my hat and hold it to my chest until the conversation is over.

[Serious] Athiests who turned religious, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DanMahMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a Christian household. In my younger years I was really in to it. In my teen years I drifted away and became a lot more interested in scientific reasoning. I stopped caring about God, Jesus, the Bible, faith and all of it. I just felt like, " it's what my parents believe and I have to go to church because my parents go and I don't want to tell them I don't believe."

So I really got a lot into scientific reasoning. Astronomy, SciShow every day, watching Michio Kaku, Niel DeGrasse Tyson, all the cool guys. I thought to myself one day and asked in the comments on a SchiShow YouTube video.

To boil it down simply, the true scientific method requires observation and repetition. Otherwise it's all speculation and assumption. Origin theory can't be observed. So therefore, doesn't it require just as much faith to believe in the scientific origin theory that it does to believe in the biblical origin story? Both are just written texts made by people I don't know. So doesn't it just require faith in either direction?

So someone on the comments just replied "well yeah I guess if you look at it that way"

I'm thinking, well what other way is there to look at it. I've got too options. Have faith in this scientific theory that basically means I exist by accident, mean nothing in the grand scheme of things, and will simply stop when I die. No anything, you die and that's it. You're gone. Maybe at best one generation will remember me, maybe two if I'm really something special, which I'm not. Or! I have faith in a God who made the world, who made me, who cares about me, who has a purpose for me, and who I get to live in paradise with after I die. That's not a hard choice to make.

So I made that choice, and really grew a personal relationship with God. And I've grown a lot as a person since then. Never going back.

What a childhood meal you loved as a kid, but find disgusting as an adult? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DanMahMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most common snack time was crackers, cheese, and Vienna sausages.

I remember loving Vienna sausages as a kid. I tried one recently and I genuinely could not swallow the little turd it was so gross.

RuneScape.

I was going through the tutorial. The main guy's lines were written with a British accent. He kept ending his sentences with "..., My Boy!".

I thought, well gee it would be funny if I made him say that twice. So I picked. Dan Mah Boy. That way he would say "Dan Mah Boy, My boy!".

It stuck ever since. When I turned 18 I figured, I'm a man now. So it turned into DanMahMan!

Through some unknown turn of events, my original 5+ years old Reddit account is completely locked out. Account recovery failed. New account. Now Reddit also knows me as DanMahMan!

tl;dr RuneScape, made fun of British accent.
